Was a straight swap with Eastwood for start and might have played same minutes Eastwood usually does but they lost 2 players early and therefore only had 2 reserves to rotate middle forwards.
He is worth a look going forward but is a risk.

You'd imagine Grahams absence contributed to the 80min.

No specifics yet but apparently the Tigers are close to signing a City Origin rep forward.

Eastwood only played 27 mins...
It does look like AElliott has been getting more minutes over the last 4 rounds...and he has Bulldogs byes... tempting

I reckon it's David Gower. Love Gowie but he's just not going to get a look in at Parra at the moment with our forwards pretty set

Eastwood is normally the starting 2nd rower and normally plays about 50min. I was saying that Elliot had most likely done a straight swap into that role and would have played those 50min Eastwood normally does but the injuries forced him to play 80min

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 37
All this talk of getting Gallen makes me want to as well haha. I was originally going to do:
Winterstein out - Elliot in &
Lamb out - Norman in
But now I'm thinking:
Lamb out - Frawley in (has to start of course) &
Winterstein out - Gallen in
I just want to wait a few weeks re Elliot to see if he cements his starting position & plays big minutes. If J. Reynolds is out for a while i.e. 4 weeks & Frawley starts I think he can pump out 30-45 points & not be that far off matching Norman's scores.
Getting Gallen means I can make these trades over the next couple of weeks for byes:
Fifita out - J. Graham in
Hess & CHN out - Mannering & cheapie frf in like Tualau & move N. Brown to the 2fr meaning I'll have dpp's in my frf & 2fr.
Hopefully the cash from the above trades will be enough to get Norman in.

Curtis Sironen ?
Actually doubt that's true. Cleary has been bolstering experience to guide the young guys and City Country teams tend to be mainly younger up and coming guys

Not sure who it may be. I've heard rumours they've been chasing Russell Packer and Jake Marketo, dont know if its one of them though.

Thank you for the advice Trade Guru...
I'll keep an eye out for TLT next week to see if he gets the starting spot

They'd need rocks in their heads to do that. I don't think Cleary would want him anyway.

Eastwood probably got dropped for his shitty 3rd tackle kick against the Tigers.

I often hear that people think a trade is worth around $100k....i.e. hope to make $100k from each trade you do
What about how many points you think a trade is worth? Especially thinking about more sideways trades around the bye period...
Would you do a trade knowing it would not get you any $$ but get you 50-100 extra points over the 8 game period?
Mainly thinking of sideways trades like McGuire -> Graham....or Brown -> Tolman (after rnd 15) etc etc (or even downgrading CS9 )
Based on the round 1s magic number. $100k is roughly worth about 250 points. So the way I look at it is this, is the trade gonna make me 100k or will I be 250 points better off in the long run. Exception if you are trading to a keeper for me, I would consider a sideways trade for better byes over all, but probably only if who I trade to plays 2+ more games than the other. For instance brown + Guths to Taupau + Cleary/Trbo/DWalker come round 16.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 37
Elliot has been a pretty good performer for us all year, he played 60 against souths too, him starting over eastwood was coming, he replaced eastwood rather early against the tigers too (HIA was in eastwoods second stint)
realistically Eastwood is still best in the middle, elliot has alot of similiar traits to jackson and if he keeps performing des would rather him on the left edge then eastwood.
he won't play 80 every week tho, bench will be important to his out look, if RFM is the guy who replaces jrey (i would be surprised if he isn't) then RFM will play 20-30 on the left edge

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 37
what a shit show 767 for the week, not sure how i only dropped 400 places, guess it was just that kind of week.
Have tentatively pencilled in Hess -> Elliot and Lamb -> Munster with 184k to spare and view to the future of Kodi -> Johnson, Yates -> Graham over the next couple rounds, with Kelly and CHN/Chrichton (depending on whether Madge continues to play silly buggers) out on their arse for funding.

That conundrum of whether or not to trade Fiffy/Cam/McGuire out/back in is going to wreak havoc with our trades.
