CNK dropped, what bullshit. Might trade him to Dylan Edwards if named. Otherwise no harm in holding him in case injuries hit

Not sure what to do with Brown. I don't own Brown but if I did I really don't know what I'd do with him.
Indeed Knik to McInnes will be my first trade. Can't work out what to do next.

At least Klokstad out helps with my loophole. But in real life it's a very poor decision to drop him..

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 45
Even if Brown doesn't play this week or next, if he plays 15 and 18 he will be useful and I can cover him in 14 and 16, and 19 is far enough away I can worry about that later and I don't have the trades to trade him out lightly. If he doesn't play this week I'll need another body and am thinking Musgrove out. I mean he won't play 15 will he? Clark could be back, or Walker back to 5/8 pushes Sutton back or the injured centre (Goodwin isn't it?) comes back and pushes Fui back to bench. Any reason to hold Musgrove?

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 45
Fantasy notes from team lists:
- Josh Reynolds not in 21 aka Frawley good for another week at least.
- James Graham named.
- Edwards fullback, Mansour starting wing. Hiku dropped to extended reserves. CHN still starting. Rein 9.
- Yates 13.. Stone bench.. though always subject to change.
- Nathan Brown named 13.
- Hayne named centre again
- Thurston named on extended bench.
- Lolohea 6 as expected.
All origin players named in their usual positions as expected (except Dugan & Frizell for the dragons), with extended reserves for teams with multiple players.

Has anyone noticed that the Bulldogs v Panthers game has gone from the 3rd game on a Sunday to Thursday night. It's got to be an error doesn't it as they never have a game 1 day after origin.
Now it has been changed.

Still not sure on what to do with Norman. Not named. Have 15 for the week if I trade in Dewards for DethKlok
Smith (McInnes)
Graham, Ese'ese
Brown, Whitehead, BThompson
Johnson, Field
Moga, Leilua
Tedesco, RTS, Hayne (Dedwards)
Pretty weak team and reckon I might be lucky to hit 600.

Been a disastrous few weeks of trades for me. Trying to distance myself from fantasy in general to keep some sanity. Obligatory fuck you to FanHub, Prozone, Stats, whoever the fuck you nubs are for your trash scoring week after week, year after year.
Torn on whether to upgrade Kodi to Johnson, Munster or DCE this week. If getting DCE also allowed for Brailey to McInn, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but 12k short of the double upgrade.
Swore a few weeks ago when I picked up Teddy that I'd get Munster before this weekend's clash against the Knights, but that 57 average for Johnson is proving too hard to resist at this stage.
Looking at this cursed lot this week, 25k and 15 trades remain.
Cam
McGuire, RJames, Graham
JDB, Manners, Whitehead, Merrin
Johnson, Lamb, Cleary
SMat, Suli, Cotric
Teddy, RTS, Slater
NPR: Brailey, Leota, Fuimaono, Fai, Brown, Fine, Hayne, Malakai WZ.
Suli and Brailey probably become McInnes next week.. then I guess I'm scraping pennies for Hayne and Lamb to become Munster..
Munster better score 30 this week and Johnson 57 for the remainder of the season, or else..

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 45
The 2nd hooker options are
Friend (bench hooker) avg under 50 and that includes 3 tries in last 3 games.
McInnes (no bench hooker) avg 51 since rd 3 cost almost 500k
McCullough (bench hooker) avg 61 last, 5rd avg 51, bench hooker for first time this year, only socred 37 in 60min in only game less then 80min this year. Cost 545k
Now lets say any of those 3 avg 50 for the rest of the season they are costing a lot of cash for that output. There are options like Graham/Merrin that should avg 50 for the rest of the season at a much cheaper price. There are also players like Tapau/Papali/Lolo that most dont have that at similar prices to 2nd hooker should score an avg of 5 points more per week from now on.
I see merit this year in the 1 hooker(from now on) as its the first time i dont see 2 outstanding must haves. Previous years it seems the 2 best hookers were in the 5 best avgs.

I thought he has done well but it was glaringly obvious he was a weak link in the backline v SG. They targeted him and the left edge the whole game and most times they succeeded. Didn't watch the Broncs game though so he may have improved.
Im not a fan of Maumalo though. He just plays like he has no brains. Not sure if thats actually the case though. I;d say CNK gets his spot eventually though.

This is a BIG if.
But what if Smith gets an injury or suspension and misses 1-2 weeks? You won't use 2 trades to take him out and back in at that stage because chances are you are really low on trades already and need them for longer term losses.
Having that backup hooker allows that cover, it's the whole point. It's the exact reason why every season my 4 reserves are 1 HOK, 1 FRF, 1 2RF and 1 HLF, because it covers all the main positions where you'll need it most.
Just move the reserve into the starting side and then you pick someone else for the bench. I understand everyone plays differently, but to me this just makes the most sense.

I've often run with 1 hooker and done well enough. Even if the top two scorers were hookers, getting them both into your team can sometimes cost you too much.

Why cherry pick McInnes' scores to exclude his highest two scores? He went very large a couple of times last year and no reason he wont again. He will get consistent 50's but go large on occasion. That's why they call it an average.
Edit: His current average is 56 and I see no reason for it to change such as a bench hooker in McCullogh's case. And that is all Merrin et al are going to get you. Yes you get more to choose from and can get players cheaper but at increased risk.

This is what I said the other day. I don't see a Smith/Farah must have equivalent like in past seasons. I'm sure there are averages you can work off to say McInnes is a must have over a 5th or 6th 2RF or 3rd FRF or HLF.
But I really think this season is the one to give it a shot. I'll still have trades over should the unthinkable happen so it's much more low risk than say, running with 1 hooker AND no trades. At this stage (with plenty of water left to go under the bridge yet) I'll be going with the solo Smith option and am well prepared for the "I told you so's" if/when it goes pear shaped.
