I knew his avg was higher then 51.

What are Nathan Brown owners doing? Is he a hold now he has been named to play this week? At first I was considering trading him out to one of James or Vaughan however now I'm not so sure. I might have to go back to the drawing board and do the maths to work out the best option.

Griffen named in 19, B Smith in 20 - both backup hookers?

Killing off 2nd hooker spot with half season remaining is definitely a risking move! Im stuck with cook at the mo so struggling with 2nd hooker spot but not sure if im brave enough to go with B Smith!

I might actually go Merrin over Taumalolo as he's nearly 100k cheaper & he can rival his scores. I was surprised to see Taumalolo has ownership of 33%. Merrin has ownership of 9% so he's a bit of a pod & with a b/e of only 16 he's going to get some juicy price rises.
Apart from his score of 98 in round 11, Taumalolo's 3 previous scores were 49, 37 & 50 so that really doesn't inspire me when you have to fork out 540k for him.

CNK has a BE of -1. A fair chance he gets another run at some point. So on the potential that he still has cash to make and his dual position status is extremely handy he is a hold. Do you have another player who you could potentially trade out to Edwards?

I'm thinking Munster VC and Mannering Captain

Exactly what I'm thinking of doing. One potential boom player and one reliable, but will require quick change and not waiting for Munster updates.

Knights at least means he *might* go large, which is what you want from a VC. Also possibility of Cronk not backing up 48hrs after Origin could mean more playmaking and some KMs.

Fair enough. Does Cronk back up? Surprised Croft isn't on the 10 man bench, Munster and Jacks seem to be both be 5/8's/ball runners to me.

Shite, that's this week's plans out the window

Even if Hayne stays at centre for final team lists, he won't actually be given CTR status until next week.

With Cook you have basically killed off the spot already geek

As long as it looks like he'll be playing round 15 I will hold. Not really worth the trades otherwise.

Not ideal, but if I was to trade him out it woul dbe for a keeper who plays 15 and/or 18 (or both) or maybe Jesse Bromwich because he's cheap

Even though he seems very tough, you'd have to be concerned about reduced minutes for a few weeks?

I wouldnt say its cherry picked, not like i took a score from here and there. We are trying to look ahead to the back end of the season and id say most people would agree going forward Saints and McInnies are more likely to play and score like they have the past 8 games compared to the first 3 games. Right now you are paying for that full season avg of 56 and the decision will come down to will he avg that the next part of the season. You probably think he will, i dont and hence why i wont bring him in.

As to whoever brought up a Smith injury/suspension for 1-2 weeks, im aware of the risk and thats why my back-up hooker will be his handcuff. Im happy enough to run that risk, its the same risk as your back-up hooker getting injured and now having to play someone else or use a trade if long term. Ill also have trades left to cover a long term inury to Smith

It wont suit everyone but i dont think going Smith/Smith combo is a season killer.

It needs to be said this discussion isnt really about downgrading your 2nd hooker if its McInnies/Macca/Friend its about those who are looking to upgrade a 2nd hooker to one of those guys.
