There's spirit and there's getting the biggest defeat since 2000.  I don't see spirit brining this team back to matching NSW to lock up the series.  If the whole game ran like the first 20 and we lost, yeah okay, but any QLDer saying after that that the same team can lock the series cause of our QLDer spirit, sorry but you are kidding yourself.

I'm happy to be proved wrong, and it's quite possible I'm jumping the gun.  NSW have had to change their pack time and time again to try and combat us, and they are finally doing that, it's time we start doing the same.  Nothing lasts forever.  Kev and the team needed that defeat.  Maybe a loss like that might spark the same team into better form, but some of those guys don't deserve to be there.
Sorry mate you've misunderstood me there, I'm not saying spirit turns that around, I'm simply saying when i hear NSW fans have a go at us for spirit and loyalty it brings a smile to my face, its clearly gotten to them each time they've heard it in years gone by.

As for the team changes, I'm not sure we need too much. Billy, JT and maybe Papa to the prop/bench (Even though i thought he was good out wide i think we could do with strengthening our middle and he's probably the best option given the strength of 2nd rowers vs Front rowers to pick from) will have a big difference. The final score was a blow out but if QLD score straight after half time its a different game and small changes like having the class of JT and Slater might be all that's needed for that to happen.

Unfortunately mate, we don't select the teams.

Qlds biggest problem is a lack of middle forwards and that cannot be fixed apart from bringing in wallace, who isnt exactly the savior.

By the same token, all of nsw middle guys are capable of big mins and big output. Fifita, woods, trbo, jackson, klemmer all play 60+ mins regularly.

And well Fifita is an absolute weapon. We have to find a way to minimise him. He cant be stopped entirely. In five years time,if he keeps his heas straight, he will be talked about as one of the greatest origin forwards

    Fair enough, my misunderstanding.

Even if they didn't let that try in right before half time, it would have been a different second half if you ask me. Papa is definitely needed in the middle. Chuck him in there with maybe Wallace, chuck napa on the bench, he'd be alright for a 20 minute stint I reckon and we'll improve.

I do get the age thing, JT not there next year anyway. We can call him to try and save the series but then what? If he's fit, you put him in, and even Milf to the bench could do something.

We matched NSW when Fifita was off the field.  Teddy was a gun, but Fifi got them 8 points up at half time.  Both tries were cause of him. To be honest also, I thought McGuire was fucking terrible. Don't rate him at all.

I'm happy for NSW, they deserved the win, and I'm happy for Fifi.  I've always liked him and he has been the first player in my fantasy team from day 1 over the last 4 seasons and he's coming good and showing the potential, it's good to see.

Could see that result coming a mile off. NSW look much better on paper and the experienced players for Qld just getting too old. Even with a couple of good changes QLD will still struggle to win game two. Think if Thurston is fit to play they need to take a risk and perhaps play Milford from the bench over Morgan.

Your seeking consolation in the past Archer, which is exactly my point. The tide is turning albeit after a long time of dominance by QLD. You seem to forget the years
Of NSW dominance by Gus Goulds NSW squad. You did not hear NSW WELSHMAN! Qld have always had that inferiority complex. After all, you voted in Joh Bjelke Petersen several times,
    what more can I say?

This is a bit harsh. Thought he tried very hard in defence and met them quite well when targeted in the main. Also looked slippery and dangerous at times in attack in a team that was always up against it

That loss was far from being a Milford issue. McGuire aside that pack was either very tired or not up to it

Abbey out is a wasted trade unless you have buckets of trades left

Not going into the trade itself, the question as to whether you should hold off a trade you think might be of value for the loophole... I Think will get a range of answers and ultimately it comes down to your personal preference. Did you use it last week? Did it help? Would you have picked the same captain without it or did it net you an extra 20 points you wouldn't have picked up otherwise?

The loophole is a handy option, but not vital. Not sure about anyone else, but I reckon I have set for a loophole at least 15 times over the years but maybe only used it 3 or 4 times.

Your trade can be left till Sunday ( I assume) so more than likely you will know if your VC has gone MASSIVE anyway. Have you settled on your C/VC yet?
