Have you projected Merrin's price rises moving forward based on an assumed average scoring per week? I'd be interested to know how is value might track.

That will determine whether he is a buy now, or after 15 when he will have e finished his Bye's. I.e. does he become unaffordable over the next 2 rounds or not...

If he scores 55 he goes up near 30k with a BE of 16 and will trend upwards. It's now or never

Haha I'm very conservative by nature, so unlikely to pull through. I think Munster will definitely come in for Niko. And I'm leaning more towards Nofo as a POD with a slightly more useful bye calendar.

May bring him in for Hayne as he has no usefulness if missing bye weeks due to origin.

A few people said he was a good buy preseason. They were right. Gone up 104k. Now at that price he's to mid range to buy. Like a Wallace who I already have. 18th man worthy

Are Bodene owners keeping the faith? I feel like punting him over Kaufusi and Brown as they play 15.

Fair enough. Im the opposite in Fantasy, for me I'd rather finish 10,000th but give myself a chance at winning the thing that get 100th but never really be in with a shot (if you know what I mean).

That being said, fundamentally I see this game as being mostly about finding value. There are several guys at this point in the season worth considering on that from - some more risky than others. Rapana, Merrin, J-Brom all seem guys worth considering at this stage.

But then theres the bye coverage too. I agree, what ever you do, Munster seems like a solid play. Just gotta figure out your 2nd move!

Thanks mate, yeah, well if he's 50k more in round 16 then you might be right - unless you have a good interim option and can afford Merrin in 16. I need to wait till teams are named and Origin 1 is played and then figure things out!

Got him in my draft league, he's a slogger and seems durable.

Do we still get TLT today, and is it any less reliable than normal due to Origin?

You can have Fifita and Taumalolo while still having McInnes. Infact most people will do that. Replacing McInnes would give you a 6th 2rf or 3rd frf. You are using the number 1 frf and the number 1 2rf when working out averages as if thats what your choice is. ATM it would be McInnes or Taupau or JTurbo. All 3 have similar averages but running McInnes gives you insurance incase Smith cops a one week injury/suspension

Yeah my thoughts precisely. I haven't ruled out the idea of Smith/Smith depending of team lists, origin injuries etc. But atm I'm leaning towards getting McInnes, already have Fifita and hope to get Tolo at some stage.

Im really interested in some evidence based stuff on Merrin too. I recall he started the year crap last year too, then picked it up, did he close out well last year?

And this year, Minutes are down a bit, but have been higher in his last 3 games. Are they more of a reflection of what's to come? And with Cartwright gone? Wallace gone, CHN not looking like a solid 80minute guy, and JFH with his hamstring, could this mean bigger minutes for Merrin?

Finally, is his uptick in fantasy form got anything to do with Origin do you think? Will his motivation die off a bit now? or is he better than that?

A lot of things pointing to him being a great buy, but some question marks too!!

Would love to know what people think!

This would suggest it's confidence from the test:

Well I don't think you can predict injuries a day ahead of time.

I'd say most if not all origin players will be named as usual.

As the first game of the round is Friday it would be best to wait until then to hear how the origin reps have pulled up and who will/won't play.

Yeah I'm very interested. He screwed me last year averaging shit for the run home, but listening to his interview with Ben Ikin I got a distinct impression he wants to make up for letting the team down and will come out firing.

I'm keeping for the time being. Holding his value (just) without really doing anything at all. I'm hoping he can get some attacking plays when the Warriors make their run over the Origin period.

True that man. I may give him til round 15 perhaps, if he sits around 35-40 for another two weeks, I think it's time to punt him. Just not the gun he was last year.

Seriously considering turning him into Merrin while he's still affordable.

18 trades but only 18K.  Got burnt last week and not real bye friendly plus a lot of conerns with depth with the likes of Graham Milf etc.  Pretty gun team though.  The kicker is, trading out Fifita isn't an option.  Trying to upgrade Niko probably the best bet for this week.  Thinking maybe cashout Kelly then Niko to Munster?  Can anyone see anything else worthwhile?  It's just not a bye friendly team even though a lot of it looks pretty set up.

    Sorry to bring it up again but can anyone see what to do here? I'm looking for 50K to get Niko to Munster. Trying to boost numbers for 15 also, but downgrades look slim, so thinking;

Macca - McInnes (probably won't go down)
    STT - Semi via DPP
    Kelly - ??? Scott? Hawkins?
    SST - JBrom?
    Graham - JBrom?

Yates to Gurgess would be solid but Yates would be needed this week.

I was looking at turning him into Merrin or JDB or Tolo!

Would you keep Brown and Kaufusi over him? I'm not sure about holding Kaufusi just for round 15, he is pretty much a straight swap for Merrin!

Agreed. I'm planning to turn in him into Taumalolo or Surgess if his BE gets out of reach.

JBrom I think you can afford to wait a week to see if he's showing signs of the JBrom of old. With a BE of 38, he could score 50+ and you could pick him up next week for only 10k more. Another score in the 30s and no thanks.

Meanwhile, think I'll be bringing in the game's highest averaging FRF/2RF and 3rd best FRF overall, who's only at 6% ownership.
