Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 46
JBrom and Gurgess both possibly decent overall points options but I've decided I'll probably take a week to scout them both out before jumping on one. Elliot can cover Graham in my squad for minimal loss of points, so I'll take this week as a chance to get Tlolo in for Whitehead.

People were basically saying this about JBrom earlier in the year. Just because a player has been a gun in previous years, doesn't 100% make them a gun now.
Yeah this year seems to have produced some fair proof that guns can lose their edge while mid-rangers can take it up a notch. In 2014 Jesse Bromwich was the same price as Brenton Lawrence but he exploded during the year and for the next 2 years he was a gun. Receded a little in 16 and is now back to where he used to be.
Bodene was the premier POD the last 2 years and I remember I couldn't get him in 15 but got him in 16 and enjoyed 2 70+ games in a row (Though I did choose him over Ryan James). Now he's not anywhere close to even bagging a 50 on a regular day out.

Cashing out Kelly for a WFB would allow you to move Hayne up to your CTRs.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 46
So whats doing with Kyle Lovett? Made 49 Tackles over the weekend for a score of 59. Was it just an unusual game, does he tend to bounce up and down in scores or could he be playing a different role. I didn't see the game but it looks like most of the tigers higher scorers did so on the back of a large tackle count so maybe they were starved of a lot of ball?
Priced at 329K and doesn't play Rd18 so it would be a big gamble, but just trying to assess some different options.

Lolohea, Gutherson, Brailey or Hayne for last reserve? Realistically pick from the first three.

He was a good cash cow back in 2015, I considered keeping him around as a handy 18th man even. Noted by Tigers fans to offer absolutely nothing in attack however he is a busy tackler and a good defender so he can average around 40+ in the starting back-row.
Underpriced a little in that case but he's a cut price option who could prove useful depending on the team.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 46
Somewhere along the line I've fucked up.
I'm absolutely Tom Pettying at the moment (free falling)
I've decided to work towards a final team and make up the points that way.
Smith. McInnes
Graham, Wallace, NPR, NPR
Tolo, Surgess, Gallen, Crichton, JDB, NPR
Pearce, DCE, Walker, CNK
Croker, Cotric, Rennings, Fuimaono
RTS, Slater, Teddy, Hayne, MWZ
Hopefully Hayne back at FB pulls his finger out and I can move him into the CTRs to replace Cotric who I can then use to fund my upgrades. Otherwise the money making is drying up. The rabbit done died.

That's some balls. He could be playing the U20's teams and I'd be hesitant to trust him scoring in my 17 any time soon.no_worryers wrote:

He's only in the team because Chris Lawrence is injured.
He does have a decent workrate, so if he gets an extended run in the team he'll score OK. He's not actually that good as a footballer though so his job security is not exactly safe.

Speaking of U20's teams, Panthers play us this week so I might hang onto CHN a bit longer, if he's going to score a double on us I might as well get some benefit

Thanks Mr Bovine! That's what I'd guessed but then they were both named in the starting 2RF positions for Rd13, was someone else missing? Otherwise it sounds like your saying at 80min you could come to expect that sort of tackle count, its just whether he gets picked every week that's the main concern.Milchcow wrote:

Looks like you're trying to roll a 7 using one die.
Slater will play Origin, however ARey will get injured.
Whitehead to Merrin is strong.
