After his performance this week Madge would be a fool to move Fui back to center. When is Gray due back? Surely Gray and Goodwin play center with Johnston and Burns on the wing?MilfordTheMagician wrote:
Oh no... that could impact Fui in a very, very bad way

Rumors floating around that there may be a back line restructure for the Eels lineup today with Gutherson to fullback and French to the wing and Mick Jennings making his return.

I would like Vice Captain removed with the ability to change captains during the round. Still one bite at the cherry but don't like it being locked out 3 days before your captain might play
It seems a bit unfair that if your captain is playing in the last game of the round and he drops out when the final teams are announced, that you don't have a VC to take his place.
We have to be careful that in our haste to try to fix one (perceived) "problem" that we don't create new problems.
I honestly can't see a problem with the loophole. It's common knowledge that it exists, and the organisers have made no attempt to close it. I see it as part of the game, and there are interesting strategies developing on how best to make use of it.

I'm hoping to go up in the ranking from 5551 to about 1000—1500ish this round... Compliments of Angus

At what point do you conceed your too far behind too challenge for the title? I'm thinking 200 points behind top 5 is about the cut off for this stage of the season.

I'm currently 27th live scoring (will probably drop a bit today with only 2 players), but i'm 190 pts off 4th place and 240pts from the leader. Feel like I'm too far behind.. thoughts?
Still one big bye to go which could be crucial, but its a bit of a write off for me, unless I can jag some fluke cash outs.

It's whoever runs this comp that should cop 100% of the blame here as they are the only ones who have fucked up. I also like the ability to loophole. It adds another dimension to the game.
This.
It isn't fair to punish people retrospectively, and/or to change rules (move the goal posts) mid-season.
If the organisers really want people to stop using the loophole, then they should get off their arses during the off-season, work out a solution/strategy that they then clearly and unambiguously communicate to everyone, at the start of the season, and do the necessary coding to close the loophole (and test it properly and adequately before inflicting it on the public).
But with Fanhub's track record in the area of software development, I fear that any attempt they make to close the loophole will create other problems. The captain's loophole only came into existence after the rolling lockout was introduced (was that in 2012 or 2013?) because prior to that people weren't happy with players in their 17 (including capt and vc) dropping out over the course of the weekend. A classic example of the domino affect that can occur when you change something without considering all the possible consequences of that change.

I think your still in with a shot MTB. If you can make up 100 points on them over the remaining byes then hope for some luck with injuries and POD selections. I would even consider running with 17 and loop hole each week. You need to make some bold moves to win this thing

Still plenty of chance as long as you attack the final 2 byes hardmy tv broke wrote:

The loophole can backfire though. I mean I loopholed Slater's 70 a few weeks ago only for Mannering to go on and score 74 so I lost points doing that. Probably not too often that'd happen but it's not a foolproof strategy to get ahead.

I hate that...so often you get of to a flying start, you get your hopes up... and your last few players of the round give you dud scores
