I'm with you there tbh, when i made the post i went to take a look at the other options and when i saw his name i became a little tempted myself. I think my opinion of him is distorted from his recent years where he has been pretty shite, however before he left for his mission he showed some talent so perhaps he's turned a corner, who knows.Johnny B Goode wrote:
I was thinking of picking up Hoppa to be honest. My main turn-off with him was he doesn't seem to pump out huge scores except that 79 game where he ran for like 300m. However on closer examination he is incredibly consistent with only one score below 30.
Albeit he has a smaller sample size of games to choose from but I am considering him as a Round 18 purchase or even now.

Mostly the general League forum and the Football forum. I didn't really post in the Fantasy thread.

Was keen on Hoppa a few weeks back but stayed away for various reasons.
At this stage of the season with PODs being rather important he is tempting
Suli > Mansour was my earlier trade plan but am now thinking of Kelly > Hoppa via Suli.
Still a POD move, but keeping Suli could be another POD move as I'm sure a lot of players may be trading him out. I will still trade him out but not after I've given him a chance to impress against the Knights and Titans.

At Kelly's price, there is no point trading him out IMO unless you are desperate and can't get funds from somewhere else, plus, his 20 points will come in handy in round 18. Suli needs to go now or else his price will keep falling.

Only have 10 after trades this week haha
I only have 10 at the moment, though its a ~reasonably~ strongish 10. I am looking to pick up Taupau and probably Trbo (taupau for mcguire, trbo probably for Hayne..) before then so make that 12, and perhaps a cash out who plays rnd 18 who may net me 10 pts...
Current 10:
Graham, Musgrove
Crichton, Surgess
Arey
Smat, Fui, Scott
Munster, Edwards
Actually, its pretty reliant on souths vs roosters being a fast, low stoppage game, with souths being competitive..
ET was going to be a trade out for round 18 as he's my "sixth" 2rf, but the fella keeps scoring so well of late.
I am tempted to try something like Brailey to Farah after this round, play farah for 3 rounds in 17, 18, 19, and then get Smith back in for round 20.. though farahs minutes are so bloody unpredictable. Could try the same with korosai or even danny levi..

How far has Fuimaono shot up peoples C rankings? The way the kid plays he could be the best fantasy C going at the moment if he can hold a 60min + 2RF gig! 58 points last week with no attacking stats except TBs which he looks like he will rack up a number of each game.
For me so long as he starts he is my starting C (alongside Walker) relegating SMat.
Downside is the uncertainty about where he stands moving forward. Means you kind have to keep a backup just in case.
EDIT: in 266 min of football he almost averages a TB every 10 min (with 22 so far). Technically a TB every 12 min.
For reference Tedesco has a TB ever 9min, and Rapana and Edwards every 10 min the obvious difference is that these guys are all WFBs!!
All that leads me to think that it may well be worth holding off on TTrbo etc cause you may just have the gun sitting there already. Money better spent elsewhere? Or alternatively you can still pick him up (next week) for ~$250k.

Tossing up whether its better to just trade Suli>BJ, or cash out Elliot next week and go Suli>TTurbo, ooooooooor, run Hayne as my second starting centre (with Cotric) and go Suli>Teddy via Hayne....
Would give me Slater, RTS, Teddy and Edwards with Hayne and Cotric in the centres -_-
Centre is a mess this year

Agree completely, especially the last part. It looks like he could be a keeper but I will try keep a backup. I will potentially have Trbo, SMat, and Fui there which gives solid options, SMAT may end up just becoming a 19th man.

100% agree mate. I'll probably vc Surgess next time I get the chance. Death riding Crichton will be a scary prospect, but hard to make up ground if you are following the crowd. I think its worth the risk!

MS mentioned this last night but if JDB is suspended I'll likely do this trade:
JDB out - Taupau in
JDB will miss 2 games (suspension round 16 & bye round 18) & with Taupau having finished his byes that's an extra 100-120+ points.

I would be tempted to do the same actually. Thanks for the heads up!
EDIT: Looks like I would be trading CNK down to upgrade JDB to Taupau.

Hmmm everyone's teams seem to be light years ahead of mine. I don't feel like I have room trades wise to be making sideways trades. Still building my team this late on is the penalty for being a Scrooge at the start of the season.
Also picking up MWZ over Fui is yet another rookie mistake I'll have to learn from
