On a serious note though I wish SJ a speedy recovery. You have to wonder what scarring these injuries will have on him mentally since a big part of his game relies on his blinding speed and stepping ability. We have recently seen players battling with depression and mental demons while going through rehab, which is something you wouldn't wish on anyone. Beware the black dog guys!

Honestly, I said it months ago too, the Kiwis right now are just shit and we were never going to win the WC, with or without Johnson. Kidwell is the worst coach we have ever had, and I'm the one to normally bag the players and never the coach. Eng/Aus final.

So tempted to cash out Brown and Kelly to nuffies who won't play, just so I can loophole Clearys score haha. May be very shortsighted though.

Well who's your captain? Let's say you've captained......... Gallen for instance. He scores 65 and your score tallies up to........ 865

Take away that 65 and add that 126 to the 800 and you get..........926

Is two trades worth the 61 extra points? No in case you're wondering

For the first time ever I was looking at finishing the year off strongly with just about everyone I wanted in my final 17, I'll be a few short now and have to make do with what I have.

These injuries are a killer and the most annoying thing is I have loads of cash itb just not enough trades to use it all.

    Happens every year!

That sounds like something I'd do which means it's a bad idea but the fact that he scored 126 means it could very well be worth it if you have enough trades left which I think you do. I would go for it mate.

Cheers lads. Only 5 trades. Kapow is captain this week. The smart play I think is to hold the trades and just be happy I had him in the team

    @SI

12 trades left, 10 after I make two this week. Will bring in Peats for a week, and either trade Elliot or Frawley not sure.

Just to take your example Gallen hasn't shown anything lately that suggests he'll score over 50. At this stage of the season I think this type of out of the box thinking is required only if there are a good number of trades left & I think LB does. In your example if Gallen scores 65 that's 130 as opposed to Cleary's 252 so that's an extra 122 points.

If Kapow scores 60. I'll be 66 points worse off.

It's an example. Besides it's not really 122 extra points. You discount what their total score would be if they stick with their original captain's choice.
I loopholed Slater's 70 once and my C Mannering got 74. I ended with 731 points which means I got 661 points plus captain's double. If I kept it on Manners I would have got 661 plus 74 which equals 735 not 8 extra points.

Well I think that figures anyway, I just realized how much time I wasted putting this down.

Lost SJ and Merrin last night and if I hadn't looked at leaders team 4 weeks ago when I was in top 30 Cleary was going in my team like I'd planned for weeks. Make some stupid decisions chasing a lead

I'm going ahead with Sione>Isaako trade which leaves me 4 trades and enough for Kaysa>CS9 next week

Could do SJ>Cleary and have enough just probably for Merrin>Fifi via Nate Brown which would give me DPP in 2RF and FRF with Kapow

Would be riding rest of season with 1 trade but CTR of Hayne Fui Scott and back up non 17 of Brom and either Guth or Cody. Alternative to SJ>Cleary would be a gun WFB or alternative half (other half DCE)

Missed Mannering this week, so will finish the year off without him as I'm grabbing Jake Turbo this week.

Crichton, Gallen, JDB, Lolo, Surgess, Turbo to finish the year.

Hope Turbo doesn't go down tomorrow...
