If I'm going to choose to be without smith from here, who are the players you should have instead to cushion the blow??

I decided to trade RTS to DCE (via CWalker) this round. These are my 17 for now:

    McInnes
    Taupau Kaufusi
Gallen Taumalolo Crichton JDB Bodene Elliot
    Cleary DCE Lolohea
    Hayne Lafai
    Munster Edwards CWalker

    2 trades left, 234k ITB
Planning to bring in Smith and Vaughan in a few rounds time...
(or alternatively CKing can be upgraded to CS9 closer to the finals by cashing out Gurgess)

Why wait a few rounds to bring Smith in?

I'd say you need McCullough and/or McInnes, and also Mannering as the next most reliable captain

I will quite possibly own all 3 by next round. Already have McInnes and planning to get Macca in for Friend who averages just shy of 60 at Suncorp (4 of last 6 games there and a game against the Titans). SMat out for Teddy this week too.

Mannering can come in for ET next round as I'll have plenty of cash and that's done and dusted for the year.

Why is it an issue? They had a day off and went to the pub to have a social meet up with mates - no report of poor behaviour or over indulging. What else is there to do in Kingscliffe? Loz made it clear there was no curfew on players.

It's an issue because these guys are elite athletes, they get paid big dollars for maintaining strict training and dietary requirements so their bodies are conditioned to perform at their absolute limit. Don't think drinking alcohol for 8 hrs would help towards that.

You say what else is there to do in Kingscliffe? I know what they could do. These guys are on huge match payments for SOO so how about for that week and a bit they are in camp they train and train and train some more, work on perfecting combinations and team bonding activities. No days off and none of this going to the pub with a mate bullshit.

Loz is a nice guy but he also comes across as "one of the boys" we need a coach like Bellamy and his hardline approach to discipline.

We don't know how much drinking they were doing. They were at a pub for 8 hours. The only reports of unrest at the pub are coming from Buzz "I make up everything i write" Rothfield.

THey were hanging out with friends on a day off, several days out from a game. I wouldn't do that and most other players wouldn't do that and maybe it wasn't the wisest move to be doing it at a pub but it's not something they need to be dragged over the coals for. Ferguson shouldn't be in the NRL for other reasons.

look, i realise Ray Hadley is a toss, but he reckons they were too hungover to do media requirements the next day, so nsw hid them

at the end of the day its a poor look from two guys who have been in trouble for drinking related incidents before. i realise they arent the smartest cookies in the shed, but, just be smarter! just meet up with your mates at the beach, or someones house, or a restaurant, its not hard. dont put yourselves in the position of "being at the pub for 8 hours".

George would struggle to slip through a chasm, let alone a crack.

You had Bellamy. He won 2 games in 3 years.

That Manly jersey has a slimming effect on him, he looked 10kgs heavier with the St George jersey.

You've got to be a big unit to make horizontal stripes look slimming.

I can only assume you're making the first trade in order to free up cash. I wouldn't be getting King Guth in for Johnson. I love the guy but he doesn't score consistently high enough at fullback to be of use in the HLF's.

Better off finding some other way to stretch your funds as far as possible.

True, not a great record I admit but we need someone like him that is a very good disciplinarian who can lay down the law and set boundaries.

Would you suggest getting in Cleary or Pearce and holding off getting Smith for another week?
