I reckon SI would kill it as the old timer in the rocking chair, dispensing one-liners of wisdom with a faraway look in his eyes.

I was thinking more of Stew but, ok !!

Matty Elliott just unloaded on the Warriors organisation on Grandstand. Said he's sick of being blamed for their ongoing poor performance.

I didn't even know Elliot coached the Warriors.. Always remember him as a Raider/Panther.

Who's blaming him? NZ media? Warriors have had 1-2 good seasons their entire lifespan and Elliot only coached them for 1 full season in 2013..

Keep it up Cotric lad, repay the faith after last week.

Have Leilua too, but with a bye for me this week, I'd like to see him produce another single digit score to help a mate out.

Rapana done nothing all game but because the Warriors don't know how to tackle he has broken tackles with ease.

Sounds like he's done something if he's breaking tackles with ease

Are the Warriors going to sign any props for next year? Surely they will have a fair chunk of salary cap space available since Foran, Matulino and Vatuvei have left, plus the reports that they won't be offering Hoffman a contract.

I read something the other day that suggested they have offered Adam Blair a ridiculous 4 year deal worth upwards of 500k per season affraid

Yeah - NZ media apparently saying his poor recruitment is why they're not competitive. He said he was unpopular with some players because they thought his gameplans were too complicated (he reckons if what the Storm do is "university" level, what he wanted was "grade 3"). Said half the team turned up at preseason 10kg overweight, so he had to work them hard to get them fit, but that caught up with them late in the year.

Was really interesting to hear his side. He finished up by pointing out that the warriors have been underwhelming for a long time, and the coach hasn't been the common denominator.

Isn't that why we buy players like him?

Listened to that earlier. The abc tweeted a link to it, for anyone interested. Elliot seems like a really good bloke. Really owned up to things he believes he did wrong but have to agree with his summation that the coaches have not been the issue.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up next as a head coach
