ah, my mistake. I didn't realize he's scored a try in all 3.
I'm expecting knights players will score much better with what looks on paper to be a largely improved team next year.

Sitting comfortably on top of my league with an average weekly point gap of 150 to the next best. It's worth noting that it's just a Fantasy Classic league so no bragging rights or anything to be gained, just a warm fuzzy feeling of smashing 15 teams all season hahaha.
Personally i'd like to save the trades but i'm wondering if this is my inexperience holding me back.
I'm thinking it's been a good go of a first year with cracking the 1k twice and currently ranked 3398 but i have nothing to compare this with to know if it is a good year or not.

    My history
    2014 Rank 900's
    2015 Rank 1600's
    2016 Rank 1500's
    Current Rank 310

I dont feel any better with rank 310 then I did with rank 1600. Winning leagues without money means zero imo. I usually have a season bet each year which really gets me interested
Only the chance of winning overall really matters.

Also interesting side note. If I had played my best 17 each week (because I had some players on the bench score 60 etc), I would be leading. BUUUUUUUUT that could be the same said for the guy coming first. He could be leading by even more. But it just shows how much luck there is in this game.

Hayne playing first sucks, want to leave him out and play both Munster and Leulia, but that AE risk..

    Tough call.

Normally I'd suggest Merrin wouldn't be risked but this is a make or break game for the Panthers and the temptation for Griffin to play him would be fairly high I'd say.

He probably would've cracked 50 last start without the try.. 5 point field goal in there too..

Previous 3 scores prior to his run were 39, 29 and 27 against Broncos, Dogs and Roosters.

Definitely priced himself out of considerations for next year though as you said.

Look I've never been a Blair fanboy by any means but I can respect what he brings to a team and it is essentially what you earlier described i.e. a leader, both on and off the field that is a disciplined trainer (there would barely be a fitter prop in the comp).
He also brings a genuine toughness that the young blokes look up to (and that is from the mouth of Bennett himself).

I see your point regarding Bennett and Bellamy but on the flip side, his only other coaching experience was during a pretty tumultuous time at the Tigers when they were punting Sheens and bringing in Potter (but moving him on at the same time too).
In fairness to Blair, I know he was paid pretty well during his time at the Tigers but geez that has cost him a fair bit in terms of reputation (and probably subsequent contracts also).
It's only a small sample size over what has been a pretty bloody successful career but it appears to be the main thing that sticks in most people's minds.

Bennett also said he's as dumb as a plank and you can only give him 1 job and he'll do it well, that the reason he failed at the Tigers was Sheens asked him to do more than 1 thing. Not exactly leadership material.

Yeah and considering Leota's only scheduled to play like 20 mins tops, I could see an 80% Merrin taking his spot come game day.

The other question is whether Hayne will show up or roll over against his old club after this week's dramas.. Would be playing him over Leulia, so maybe not the worst situation.

Just think about what would make you happier - winning your league or getting highest overall position possible.

Don't care about what others think and pick what you want to do yourself, and trade accordingly.

At this point though, unless some key players get first minute injuries in a game, its going to be hard to significantly change your rank either way as everyone near the top has decent teams putting up good scores every week.

Mate good luck predicting this with any level of certainty!

I wouldn't even bother taking a stab and would instead look at how much risk/reward you are willing to take on.

Having said that BJ is no easier to predict!

Just a heads up to Jarryd Hayne owners. He will not be playing this week due to an "ankle injury". Titans have jumped on the plane to Sydney and Jarryd was not at the airport with the team.

Cheers Moose. How quickly things can change.. Leulia and Munster it is. Hopefully Leota does play now so I'd have an 18th man at least Laughing

Gold Coast Titans Twitter account comfirms Hayne is out this weekend.

Also, good news anyone still holding SJ due to lack of trades, NRL.com reporting he'll return next week.

I'm no doctor but I wouldn't have thought a pea heart and inflamed ego could have any secondary injury effects on an ankle.

Just come back fro my "holiday" to see the effects of no trades, people have vacated this forum in droves, its been really quiet in here. Even the mods have dropped their game, allowing a few threads to goto page 53.

The real disappointment is threads getting to page 53 without an appropriate party.

Guess you needs trades around to get the gifs happening

SJ back next week from a solid injury and the seasons almost over. Wonder how well he will score/play anyway.
With Watson benched i was probably going to do SJ to Cleary for the remaining rounds.

    Welcome back @Bluetige.

Smith vs Crichton for captain this weekend... leaning towards Crichton.

    or JT13?

I think Surgess will score better against the Warriors too who have lost Roache for the game.
