Re: Cronk/Pearce Watch
say whatever you want about our cap, you're going to anyway, but if you're carrying on about our draw, you're not paying attention, we get dealt 2 games against almost all of, if not the entirety, of the previous years top 8 year after year, because televising the Broncos against top tier opponents creates ratings and revenue, which can only help the NRL when it comes to negotiating rights deals, so once again the Broncos are taking bullets for the good of the league, you're welcome by the way

Look at the Titans draw this season - 12 7 day turnarounds and 0 5 days.
And we have the same number of Friday games as Sunday games but im sure someone will bring that up.

The last two years the draw was tough on them too

Re: Cronk/Pearce Watch
The Roosters clearly have the best draw this year IMO.
Also, if you are a competitive team, playing the top teams more (from memory newie plays more of the top teams than anyone next season, could be wrong) puts you in a better position mentally for the finals. As does playing on the big stage each weekend (which brisbane does more than anyone).
I also think that with their current roster, the Bronco's are a darius boyd injury away from missing the finals.

Panthers have the best draw. Only play the top 3 teams once. Play 3/4 of bottom 4 twice.
Maybe, but the Knights are a Mitchell Pearce injury away from NSW Cup.

Hard not to when 15 other teams finished higher than them this year.Pieman wrote: congrats

Don't play a single team ranked below them

Re: Cronk/Pearce Watch
exactly right @krump and @noworries
The also play all top 4 teams from 2017 twice bar the broncos who they play once and 14 games against top 8 teams.
So thats 21 of the ?24? games against finalists from last year.
2 FTA games all season, one at home and one away against the eels on a friday night.
6 of our first 8 games are away.
We also play 8 of those fucking 6pm friday night games too.
Maybe thats not the roughest but its pretty fucking rough. We do have no 5 day turn arounds which is great apparently

Re: Cronk/Pearce Watch
Lol Pieman, the 14 games against top 8 teams clearly includes the top 4, you think you only play 3 games all year against the other 7 ? Haha

Re: Cronk/Pearce Watch
Fark they must have had no money hey.. I mean, to immediately sign and prob double his wage, they must have been that strapped Fuuuurakkkkk
And 750k for luke keary is farking huge IMO. Do not think he is worth that kind of money.

He was leading the DallyM after the first month.
According to Zero Tackle;
Mbye - 750k
Norman - 750k
JRey - 750k
Brooks - 550k
If thats the going rate, Keary at 750 seems about right.

Re: Cronk/Pearce Watch
Cool?
Mbye - also grossly over paid
Norman - thats about right
Reynolds - grossly over paid
Brooks - grossly over paid
Any more brain busters?
The biggest thing I have taken from this is - Ryno thinks Mbye and Reynolds are quality halves

TIL Pieman doesn't know how a free market works.
There aren't 16 better halves in the country. Therefore, they are quality halves.

Re: Cronk/Pearce Watch
Mbye is such a quality half that fucking matt frawley took his spot for most of the year, they moved him to hooker and he most likely will play fullback next year. If he is great at fullback next season he might be worth that kind of money.
reynolds is alright when he isnt suspended or injured, sometimes - if he has a consistent and organising halfback next to him (played his best footy next to hodkinson).
Just because a player gets paid a big amount - doesnt automatically make them a "quality" nrl half.
The fact that Mbye/Keary/Reynolds/Norman (possibly) get paid roughly the same amount and that makes them all "quality" halves, blows my mind. The only half worth that kind of money is Norman and even he is still somewhat unproven.
