2018 Team Jerseys

Starting this week, clubs will be announcing their strips for 2018. As they are released I will add them. Parra fans brace yourself, apparently you're not going to be happy.

They are all pretty good. Only bad ones there are Storm and Raiders away plus maybe that crappy Dogs one. (Posted when only Brisbane, Raiders Dogs, Manly, Storm and Newcastle were/are up)

3/4 dogs ones are shit. Raiders away is shit. Reserving judgement on Storm away until i see it in real life.

I think the Dogs ones are all pretty traditional and in keeping with the club history apart from the third one,though the KIA logo I see poorly incorporated. I wouldn't be concerned if I was a dogs fan. Third Cowboys one is terrible. Don't love the other two much either. Souths are good. Tigers  idle one is garbage, Top and bottom are ok but the Brydens lawyers logo on the bottom one ruins the jersey for mine. Panthers I'm. Either here or there about, I think they should move back towards their chocolate soldier roots, but I am not against the nod to the licorice all sorts. Roosters are classic, can't go wrong with them and they incorporate the Steggles really well.

Dogs should have gone the iconic "Brothers" style butcher stripes in my opinion rather than the bottom one. That always looked great compared to the striped one they've picked. I don't see any wow ones there yet personally though. The Warriors usually have the best jerseys though IMO.

The Tigers ones are trash. Worst on ground so far.
The souths ones arent bad... but is the second one meant to be an away jersey? Its the same colour as the home jersey...

Personally think that Storm away jersey looks awesome.

Dogs and Manly look trash and the rest look fine.

Storm away is the one I'm looking forward to. The Tigers alternate strip reminds me of a polo shirt I had the year we Called ourselves Sydney Tigers without the purple stripe.

Fair point re dogs, but Warriors??? wow, I always hate their jerseys.

That's the beauty of the Souths one, they just replace the white black with the white, they don't clash with anyone, so why make significant changes, more clubs should take a leaf out of their book. The argument is that the more different jerseys you have the more merchandise you sell, but the AFL and other codes have shown that isn't necessarily the case. You don't need to change the jersey every couple of years to make sales.

Apart from the poorly incorporated logo, Manly look fine, Manly colours, slight variation on traditional patterns, not at all "super league try hard" with heaps of patterns and colours, which was the worst era of jerseys ever. I'm not sure how you could fault them

I agree with this. Also, how good is it when you see a sporting event and the home crowd is all dressed in the same colour, like All Blacks tests. Liverpool soccer or NFL games. You look at NRL games and it’s hard to see the predominant colour other than in the away section of an origin match.

The World Cup has highlighted that as well, for example the Tongan red in the crowd.

Mate that is more because the multi-colours in an NRL crowd are the empty seats....

I do completely agree with you both about Souths and their brand marketing being a cut above the rest - in the NRL that is anyway.

theres something about those Eels jerseys that just look... off, like they've been sourced for a park footy team, not a professional outfit. The weird background colour choice for the branding, making it look like a poorly integrated decal, certainly doesn't help.
