I was a bit surprised that T-Trbo lost his dpp status. It's fair enough since he never played ctr at any time during 2017 but with the teams released so far there are a few players who have retained their dpp status that were the same as T-Trbo. The same for N. Brown as well.
McGuire frf/2fr - never played prop
    Hopoate - ctr/wfb - never played ctr
    Cotric - ctr/wfb - never played ctr
There's also a couple of players who have had dpp status added
    J. Papalii - now dpp frf/2fr - 2017 status was 2fr & never played prop
Mbye - now hlf/wfb - 2017 status was hlf & never played f/b I think but could of

I think a lot of this comes from the clubs

    eg
Broncos list McGuire as a prop
    https://www.broncos.com.au/teams/telstra-premiership/brisbane-broncos/josh-mcguire/

Raiders list Cotric as a centre
    https://www.raiders.com.au/teams/telstra-premiership/canberra-raiders/nick-cotric/

    Trbojevic listed as fullback
    https://www.raiders.com.au/teams/telstra-premiership/canberra-raiders/josh-papalii/

Doesn't explain guys like Papalii but a lot of the strange DPPs are just from what the club calls their player.

JH38 might not be a bad option in the CTRs at $448k Neutral

James could be a bargain buy at $700,000 but I see Wallace below his price and think second year into becoming a full time starter, massively over achieved fantasy wise last year, could be a good pick up with the losses in the Titans pack

Where’s that why not both gif??

Brimson at the Titans (212k - hlf/wfb) is apparently a bit of a young gun. It was rumoured that he was going to play f/b before they signed Gordon but he'll also be first cab off the rank if there are injuries to Taylor or Elgey.

Wallace got a lot of extra playtime due to injuries... I wouldn't expect him to increase much points/prize wise... I think there are better value buys available

Yeah I was annoyed last year because I predicted Wallace to just be a middle of the road player but injuries and such especially early in the season made him seem like such a good option.

I was just miffed he got a lot of extra luck. But he did drop off mid year. IIRC.

He was a great pick, him and Vaughan were great value buys...

This year I'm looking at Scott, Lodge, Kasiano as value buys in the Front Row

And in the 2nd Row the likes of Cartwright, Arrow, Butcher, Harris, and Murray

But we'll have to wait till TLT to see who makes it into my squad

My guess is that it's got a lot to do with where they are expected to play next year. If Hoppa is going to play CTR and Mbye FLB, it'd be kinda lame if they weren't available there in fantasy. Papalii could play a lot of prop with Tapine starting. Not sure about Cotric, maybe just the fact that he's clearly not going to be a winger forever.

I think it's not unusual for a versatile player to get dpp even if they've played in only one position the season before.

Edit: But of course in the case of Mbye and Hoppa they could wait until TLT to award the dpp.

I wonder if Hayne disclosed the sexual assault matter to the nrl/Eels before the Eels signed him. Usually when you apply for a job, disclosing these kind of things are required.
I just read the article on nrl.com & no he didn't disclose this matter as the Eels statement says they were unaware of these allegations until they were made public today.
