I am also considering Maloney to Cogger and/or Isaako to Capewell penned TLT.

Yeah, he's likely on my trade list this week too. Ideally I'd like to see him have a role through to round 13 but looking likely at best he just gets minutes while Lewis and Gallen are out which might just be 2 more weeks right?

I think he would go to the bench and just taking the field he will make money.
Also, he could play round 13 if Graham makes Origin !!

Awesome work &TheWeapon! Where does that put you now overall?

I have the same guys peaking in Maloney and Isaako who have to go really... even before last round I had Maloney to Johnson as this weeks trade, so if he is named I think I will stick with that. Burgess being out makes him a no-go, and just can’t see anyone REALLY jumping out saying “pick me”...

Croker can wait until someone pops up in the halves, not like he will lose anymore cash

I'm 404 overall (up 160 spots from last week). Hopefully I can keep moving in that direction!

Yeah I wondered that but then also thought their forward pack might look like: Fifita Brailey Prior Lewis Bakuya Gallen (with potentially only one of Sorenson/Capewell on the bench). I guess you gotta take the punt somewhere and Sorenson at least has a crack now (and over the previous 2 weeks) to prove he deserves the starting spot.

I'll probably grab him cause I've looked at my money situation and I still need to generate another $200k or so. He's a sure thing to at least get $100k of that (you'd think) and could make it all if I get lucky!

Still taking the punt with Sorenson mate? Named on the bench which throws a spanner in the works...

I honestly don't think Graham will make Origin, one thing NSW isn't short on is second rowers, and given the dumb penalties he gave a way last series he may have to bide his time again (Anyone's guess what Freddy does though really)

I also think that Sorenson being on the bench this week is more about left side vs right side, rather than who is better/worse out of him and Capewell. My guess is that if Graham was still injured and Lewis was back, that Sorenson would be starting with Capewell on the bench...may be way off base here, but just what I think

I am in the same boat man, and what really doesn't help is Isaako playing tomorrow night, and the Sharks not until last game Saturday!

Also the new information on Brown hasn't gone down to well

It can be a cruel cruel game sometimes... $2k from being able to make the only trades I can see I should make this week. The difference between the Croker no try in the weekend being awarded rather than not haha

Morning all, first time posting long time lurking. just wondering if theres any real misses or gaps you can see to my side atm before Eliminator a few weeks away. im tempted to cash in Nicholls early if Sorro starts but with capewell already there its a tough spot to be in.

    Hey mate,

Before I make any comments/suggestions have you given up ambitions for a high overall finish and just focussing on the eliminator? I think it makes a big difference.

Bugger! What were you looking at doing?

Im still back and forth this week. On the plus side we get to see what the dogs are doing tonight. JMK, Frawley, Martin could all be interesting.

On the downside, as you pointed out, the Sharks play late, and too late to rap Capewell for Isaako for example...

On that note, do people have thoughts on Capewell? I know a few people have got him already but I think that was based on him getting the start a couple weeks back, which he then lost to Sorenson on game day. But now he is listed as a starter again.... He'd be a tempting pick up and even more so if there was a chance he gets a round 13 start!

Yeah, bitter pill that one! I WAS looking at Croker to Cogger & Maloney to Johnson, but like I said above, stupid $2k short Sad

I really don't know what to do this week now. Not sure about Capewell with Lewis being back next week or next? Hopefully guys like Hass & Martin get some minutes and a place going forward in their teams for some fresh milk

How about you man, what trades have you been going back and forth over this week?

good Question, they kinda go hand in hand? i was in the teens now down to 30ish so think Eliminator might be more the go?

Because the eliminator starts in round 12 (from memory) you have to deal with both of the bye rounds quite early. If you aren't worried about overall, IMO you should use trades to make sure you have full squads in 13 and 17 and basically ensure you win those two rounds. For overall though your trade strategy is a bit more balanced and long term in thinking.

That being said, the Eliminator is a crap fest, heaps of luck involved and given you are ~30 I would definitely not give up on overall! Just treat the Eliminator as a bit of a side thing for w while yet, focus on overall and hope you get lucky in your eliminator H2Hs. Then if you fall off the race for overall and you are still in the Eliminator you can focus on that later.

So, in terms of you team? Mate it looks pretty good and that's reflected in your ranking. Some ideas though:

Aitken seems a waste on the bench. But Im not sure there's too much you can do there other than trading out either Masters or Aitken. It's a lot of money to be carrying and not using to score.

I think you need to figure out how you can make some more money too. On first looks you don't have enough cash generation to get an 18/19 man gun squad together (and you have too many red dots on your bench). Too many red dots is bad because 1) these guys can be making you $, and 2) they can help add to your bye round totals.

I'd look at bumping out Croker/Milne/Leilua for guys who fit preferably both the above: Paseka, Sorenson, Haas, Lane, Cogger, Martin

I'd also look at cashing out a couple NPRs who have peaked and won't play 13: Hiku probably the only one there, but I do think you need to make a call on your Cs too ~500k tied up in a NPR C is too much I think. I'd probably lose Aitken seeing as he doesn't play 13.

Then make a call and find a strategy for upgrading guys JFH/Kikua/Murray/Rein - I think the key to this year is gonna be whoever makes the right calls on the popular guys people own that are borderline keepers. My hunch is that you'll climb the rankings if you get that right. For example everyone basically owns Kikau. If it turns out he goes on to average 45 or under from here then the guy that trades him out at the right time and upgrades to a 55 to 60 point guy is gonna be in the money. I have a number of guys in my team that I am thinking of in that light - Im just stumped as to know what to do Smile

Good luck mate, hope some of that helps!

Just to clear up something about the Eliminator. You don't have to plan for the bye rounds.
    Quoting a rule,
"The process is repeated with all remaining teams for the remainder of the season (excluding multi-bye rounds 13 and 17), until there are 2 teams remaining in Round 25. The higher scoring of the two teams in Round 25 will be crowned the Eliminator Winner;"

Ah, shows how much I know. Was it like that last year? I've never really played for the Eliminator. Was it just that last year there were rounds where the Eliminator was on and a couple teams had byes (i.e the Eels and Souths players last year).

    My bad, sorry mate.

Still though, playing H2H is a different strategy that playing for the season.

Interested to get your thoughts lads on SJ.

Obviously his price is going to go up after this week when his dud score rolls out of the 3RA but if I were to purchase him, then I can't upgrade Bromwich to Fifita/Taupau and my 4th reserve is going to be Mark Nicholls.

Plus there is the injury concerns.

All this has me thinking I will stick with JT/DCE but I am still a bit concerned I may end up not being able to afford SJ...

Might be too late but I would hold on SJ for a bit. His injury issues have me worried (as an SJ owner). week on week there is always a concern he will pull out late.

JT went well last night too and plays 13 so perhaps upgrade JT if needed after 13?
