I think about the impact Brad Arthur had on Nathan Brown turning him into a much improved player. I think Evans has some chinks such as consistency, discipline & application & maybe BA can have the same effect on him. There's no doubt that when Evans gets it right on the day he can score well so maybe this year he will get it right on most days. Thoughts & thanks.

Evans has been talked up on this site nearly every pre-season. And been a let down every time

He is cheap enough to tempt me again, but I have sever doubts on the change of clubs doing anything to change his fantasy scores significantly.

Assuming you're talking basement dollar 228k or less then:
Kennar ctr/wfb, Milne 228k ctr, Fonua 228k wfb, C, Graham 228k wfb - these 4 have a good chance of starting in round 1.
Then you have some that could play:
    Isaako, Opacic, Pearson, Sione Katoa

For fear of getting lumped with some absolute duds and completely fucking up my early season by doubling up on it (centres already low priced Hiku, Milne)

I have gone for a GUN and 2 perceived mid range value picks in the WFB Tedesco, Ponga and Inglis

I don't see a big increase in minutes. If you want score to increase it will have to be due to improved workrate/stats.

Certainly possible given last year was his rookie season. He is the sort of guy I see as being more useful in draft comps than overall, where he may be left unpicked slightly longer than his talent would warrant.

Also i reckon Brown was on the upswing regardless of coach. He showed what he had at souths.

Evans sucks. And yeah, ive been burnt by him hah.

He scored well at the start of 2016 when JWH and Cordner were absent.

I don't see him reaching those heights again with a full strength team. Its not like Kane Evans was restricting his scoring.

Don't think he is overpriced, just don't see enough value there. Too expensive to be squad filler, and scores are far too low to be a keeper.

If running Milne and Hiku the risk of running another cheapie in the WFB could be bad if the CTRs both fail to get near a 30 average, I have faith in Milne doing it not so much Hiku

Fonua could go okay but would much rather him on my bench making some money than hoping he scores well as a starter in my WFB, but that's just me mate

No, makes complete sense. Will have to play around with the team and see what i can do.

    Cheers mate

Napa is a gut call for me, If i see a rooster bench with the likes of Liu, Tetevano., Matterson and no Butcher I will run Napa. Otherwise I will move him up to NAS or JBrom

plus his minutes were up to around 56 a game when he averaged 43. His minutes were down to around 46, I'd still back to to go over 30 in the saem game time, anymore and he could turn decent

Rfm, McQueen or arrow for a bench spot? Or anyone else around the 435k?

Big risk which im veey worried about. If i have one dud in my 17 i can probably handle it if the other picks it enanled me to make are scoring well.

Thinking of going a cheaper option than tedesco to try and bolster across the back 5 in general. Feels like this year there are not alot of tempting mid rangers in the ctrs/wfbs though, or even cheapies.. some will emerge tho

My back 5 is Tedesco, Ponga & 3 cheapies as I've gone with 2 500k halves. I see a 2nd good half outscoring a 3rd 500k wfb. One of my cheapies is a left field pick who may not even get picked for their club but has a lot of potential & could be a smokie. I do have Milne but he's an emergency as I can't see him doing much against the Roosters & I see my other 2 ctrs outscoring him.

Some always emerge mate, come TLT there will be 2/3 names everyone will be clamouring over to get in, some will work out Easy E, Saifitis (year back) Yates etc) some won't (Jenson

then mid season (Twal, CHN, Eisthenhuth etc etc)

Much tougher finding the gems in the WFB though, which is why I'm going with more established players there and maybe putting a cheapie on the bench

Arrow for me but his chances of getting the minutes are dwindling. Maybe pencil him I till trials/TLT.

All of them have upsides and worth considering (depending on what Cartwright does to Arrow)

Wait for trials to see if it becomes clearer who has the better job security
