The problem with forwards who are just tacklebots is that their scores are too intrinsically linked to their playing time. McGuire only scored above 50 once last year in games 60 mins or less . This other six times he went 50+ he had at least 66 mins, which I think is outside his norm. Coaches who select him must really be hoping Bennett changes how he uses him (or praying for injuries to forwards). Do not think he is undervalued in the least unless some inevitable luck strikes (well unlucky for injured forwards but you know what i mean Laugh 3 )

The advantage McGuire gives you is DPP flesxibilty.

What happens if Lodge gets a 2 week suspension. Would you rather replace him with 45 point McGuire, or 25 point Kikau.

I wish Nathan Brown had kept his DPP, but in the absence of any real FRF/2RF value, I am looking for the best value big points i can get

At the moment I'm going with JBrom & Napa/AFB starting, Liu & Lodge on the bench and Kikau EMG

I expect everyone to change at least 5-10 players come TLT so I havent paid to much attention to my team as yet.

Currently running Lodge JBrom and Evans as FRF. Don't like Evans and would love a better option to pop up on TLT.

First team without Tedesco and I quite like the balance. 3 good scorers in the back 5 and 2 cheapies without putting off the balance too much

I'm just running 2 frf's & that's all. If I get an injury/suspension I'll just use a trade. I don't see the point in getting a lower priced frf just for cover when I can get a similarly priced 2fr who will score 10-15 more points from my bench. I have J-Brom & Lodge atm.

Pretty keen on Marsters after last nights showing

    - lots of offloads
    - lots of tackle breaks
    - 1 out of 2 goal kicks

so what do you do in terms of your auto-emergency when JBrom or Lodge are a late withdrawal?

Yes I should address that. Mind you I could just scramble & urgently trade in another prop.

I really see Moose as a sub-50 player, he just doesn't get enough attacking stats. Think he is set for 60 minutes at lock and should consistently score the 46-47 he is priced at. Where the money will be is that he is always the first person to step into the extra minutes through injuries in the forward pack. Happened last year a bit early in the season, and no reason why it wouldn't again- but I certainly wouldn't be thinking those 70 minute stints and 55 point games are nailed on to him.

This was in part what led me to making my post about what to do with frf. Mcguire was one of my first picked and has been there since but im really starting to think i can do without and go a little cheaper in frf.

I just dont see alot of value in any of the higher priced frfs this year. So picking mcguire was kind of the lowest spend of the higher tier "safe" options.

Yeah I had McGuire from the beginning too but when I read that Whitehead was starting at lock & probably playing 80 minutes I swapped. This has resulted in my 2 prop team.

I know the Panthers were only playing a 2nd rate Roosters team last night but twice Maloney assisted tries to the wing that Mansour is usually on. Also apparently Merrin played the first 40 minutes straight & made some good runs & a couple of off loads. I think Edwards also played well & Cleary as well. But it was really a nothing trial.

I want a solid scorer as one frf so Fifta is in.Then slightly more than a mid range who might improve, RCG it is.
Then wait for TLT for who the cash cow reserve is. Kikau or JJ Felise maybe?

Merrin is pretty much locked in for me.

I think Milne + Marsters would be the preferred centre paiting of most Tigers fans.

Doesn't mean Cleary sees it that way

Marsters won't goalkick during the season if Lolohea is around
