Sportsdeck Draft League Thread 1

I had a wonderful experience in a draft yesterday !
I joined a random draft league in NRL Fantasy and was ready to go at the appointed start time of 6:30 pm on Tuesday.

I watched the countdown clock get down to zero and then the screen changed to "here is your team - good luck" and I said WTF
i checked the settings page and some idiot had changed the start time to 8:30 am on the same day, 10 hours earlier than advertised !
Who starts a draft on a Tuesday morning with a 60 second time limit ? That would mean everyone had to be online on time !

And what a fine team I ended up with; Farah starting hooker and a 4 man bench of McCullough, Friend, Mahoney & Hodgson.
Then I had Drinkwater (injured at least 3 months) in halves.
Bolton (suspended until round 6), and
Dufty - yeah I will get his 15 minute games (if he plays at all)

Think I might abandon this and let the cheats have it !!

That'll be a terrible season, 18 is way too many. 36 starting halves? There arent 36 starting halves in the world, let alone the NRL.

^^^^ For this reason I would take Welshy's suggestion and pick 2 halves, remember at 18 you get 2 picks in a row and have to use it to your advantage. It will get other people scrambling to get at least 1 decent half which will mean other positions will still be available with potential guns that wouldn't have otherwise.

With 18 teams it's fair to say it will be unlikely people will be fielding full teams each week.

Cheers lads i will do that. Cleary/SJ/DCE will be my likely targets i guess. I feel like if i go that way im not gonna get a decent hooker though haha

There are 16 clubs and 18 teams.

Unlikely you would get a starting hooker let alone decent.

Who were you drafting with? Tedesco and Cleary 18 and 19? Blind school perhaps

That is such a good team. You have the best HLF, the best WFB, strong CTR options, the 2RF is strong considering it's 18 teams, I don't mind your FRF arguably your weakest area if Bromwich returns to form it's great. Peats is decent considering he would have been like pick 54. I am so surprised he made it through.

I was rather surprised as well. Half are keen NRL dudes and the other half doing it for fun.

Just finished another draft session on NRLFantasy !
60 second time limit, it was all done in 30 minutes. Think about that for next year - 2 minute time limit would be finished in about an hour !!

I was pick 2 so I knew I would get Cook or Smith and just let the guy picking 1st choose for me !

The kent had 1st choice in round 1 and he picks L. Lewis !! WTF

Team lists were kind, I just hope Woods can keep up the same scoring he did last year off the bench
