With Thurston returning I expect him to get back to a 30 average. Can afford any centre under 460k and none of the other interest me. Hayne's centre stats are very off putting. BJ/Inglis probably best option in that price range but just too expensive with me not wanting to downgrade elsewhere. Having been toying with just coping a sub 25 scorer and picking up Kennar for base price but there will be a few weeks with low teens scores.

Kennar def bottom of the pile

Katoa/Isaako pretty even I’d say both play wing on decent teams who will score well so plenty of attacking opportunities, Maybe Isaako because over DPP slightly overs but apparently Katoa is a TB King so toss up

Katoa > Kennar > Isaako , on job security and tackle-breaking goodness.

I'd take a punt on Bowen. O'Neill will disappoint you.

Is it stupid to keep Murray in my team for Round 1? Surely he starts in week 2 over Sutton and this week is to get him up to speed after no trials

Wouldn't count on it. Mediocre. Can't remember seeing him make a line break or bust a tackle in recent memory. He's fast but doesn't have that acceleration.

in saying that, is sao a better prospect than rochow? both have doubts over longevity. perhaps the 84k difference could be better spent elsewhere

Sao has mannering to return. Paasi also in extended squad, and from what im led to believe, hes only not in the 17 as hes only just returning from injury

Kearney did say that Mannering was due to play on the edge so this would effect Papalii .Perhaps Sao may have won the lock race over afoa.... Saying that still unsure how Cracker will go

    So, I wasn't looking at round 13 players this early on as I never do but I'd thought I'd actually have a look and break down the potential players for every position a little more that I think would be worth looking at in each position;

    Hookers: Griffin, Cook, Friend

The rest not worth noting so Cook and Friend the winners here, Griffin too if he can keep his spot. Koro could be a smokie if he shows some form but Granville, King (probably not worth it) and whoever plays hooker for the Tigs that week not worth a trade.

Front Row: Alvaro, Ese, SST, Liu, AFB, Taupau, Rochow

Not much here. Taupau looks the pick along with SST and possibly Liu. Fifita will play origin too IMO, but if he doesn't for some reason he'll be a must have. Rochow if he's still there by some miracle will be good and hopefully AFB can keep a spot too. Ese might be an okay prospect moving forward too. Not much else, Scott and McLean may be okay but can't see them really excelling.

Second Row: Tolo, Gal, Lowe, Brown, Griffin, Surgess, Murray, Crichton, Aubbs.

A few here with Brown, Tolo, Gal and the Souths trio looking the goods, so lots of potential for round 13. JTurbo will play origin. Lowe could be a smokie.

Halves: JT, Moses, Walker, Cronk, DCE

A few good options here. Others are Moylan, Townsend, Watson, JRey, but no one you'd really waste a trade on.

    Centre: Moga, Aubbs,

Slim pickings. Dugan will play origin, as will Hayne IMO. This is where the rookies need to stand up.

    WFB: Ponga, Guth, AJ,

Again, not much, Holmes, Teddy, Turbo all out for origin, so again need some rookies.

I don't know what that proved but I think it kind of shows it's hard to really get a solid starting team with round 13 in mind. A lot is going to happen between now and then.

multiple.scoregasms wrote:Centre is killing me. Flip flopping between Hayne and Kennar with noone in between giving great confidence. At the moment I have Justin O'Neill as his scores should increase back to regular levels with Thurston back after a down year. Probably my first upgrade target will be a gun centre

At this stage i'm willing to take a punt on Hayne. Not convinced about Hiku or Kenner. I'm happy to waste a trade and down grade Hayne, if someone like Milne gets a start in a couple of weeks.
Panthers left side defence will include Malony and maybe Peachy? I can see the Eels attacking down Moses side a lot more with no Semi, so hopefully plenty of ball for Hayne.

My other ctr will be Mitchell. Masters and Thompson will be defending on the right for the Tigers. I can see Thompson getting bombed a lot, so plenty of ball out the left flank, and Mitchell will just run round Masters won't he?

I know in previous years cheap ctrs have been the way to go, but where are the Moga's, Cotrics, Kelly's, Suil's of 2018?

Kennar averaged 27 fantasy points in NSW CUP last year (15 games, 7 tries).. not actually sure what position he played (did he play centre perhaps?)

He may be only on the bench for the first 20 mins while the big boys do their thing then come on and play the rest of the game.

    Hey guys.

Finally put a team together, so much value in the 2rf and not enough spots for them all !
Not sure about arrow at this stage, i want to wait and see what happens when Wallace returns.

    CS9
    Rochow, Lodge.
    SST, Whitehead, RFM.
    Thurston, Croft.
    Isaako, Hiku.
    Tedesco, Ponga, Inglis.

    Cook, Lichaa, Griffin, Cartwright.

    Nicholls, Havilli, Croker, Katoa.

$107k remaining, should be enough money to upgrade any mid range 2rf's who flop.

Hoping Inglis gets dpp today and i can swap him into the centres for Isaako.

I reckon Thurston is in for a big year and i can't go without him.

    Any glaring issues ??

No. In fact there is every chance he'll play decent minutes round 1 and start round 2, so you might yourself an early trade by just having him from the start.

Certainly he is in consideration for me (but if he started he would be straight into my team)
