Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 9
The idea of fantasy is that you build your money to upgrade to what would hopefully be the top players in their position come season end. Obviously that is easier said than done.
When you select your player, you’ll see a B/E. That number beside it is what they need to not lose any money (breakeven). So score below, lose money. Score above, gain money.
In your team, you’ve got a lot of players who probably won’t earn money. If they do it will be very minimal. So that’s the risk you run...are you happy with riding those players for quite some time? That’s why, for example, Kasiano is a bit of a nothing pick because he will be stagnant in your team until he debuts - whenever that may be.
Check Round 13 as that’s the bye round. This year is a bit more tough to plan for that.

Poop. I'm 3k short of BJ Leilua and have absolutely no interest in anyone priced below him....unless someone can convince me Hayne isn't a bad choice. I guess I could always downgrade a 18-21 228k to a 212k....

Winning is based on points scored but you also need players to increase in value so that you can trade them for better players later. Have a read of this.Chester-Dragons wrote:Thanks mate!
Will it be a good side for future rounds?
Does fantasy rely on monetary later trades? Or point by point for each week?

Dufty safer mate, has already shown he is damned good in his position. I like Mbye but a definite risk, not to say he won't go well though what are the chances he goes better than Dufty?
Yeah - Mbye has the bonus of being DPP, and I'm thinking of running without Croker on the bench. Mbye at fullback will give me HLF backup if Cartwright or Croft are out for a week or two (with Katoa filling the WFB spot)

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 9
I keep putting Murray back in my team. Got a feeling he’s still going to be solid, make money and only increase in points and value after the first few rounds.
I’ve shuffled Carty to my halves, but I’m not super happy with that as I don’t really have cover - only Croker. Potentially I could downgrade one of my 14-17 to Liu, SST or NAS and spend some $$$ to potentially slot in someone like Moses.

Can somebody enlighten me about what we can expect the Roosters rotation to look like?

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 9
JWH probably plays 25, Napa comes on from 25-40 and 40-55/60, and JWH 55/60-F/T. I don’t know how SST comes into the prop rotation.
Matterson has been playing right edge at training which replaces Aubbs, but I think Aubbs is potentially the 80min forward in the roosters pack. Tetevano probs replaces Liu for a smaller stint before and after the half.

I think SST could be 50-60 minute player because he is their 1st choice goal kicker with Mitchell kicking the other 30-20 minutes.

I currently have Alvaro in my 17, because I expect him to get about 45+...
but SST starting at prop seems to get the same return at a cheaper cost (once he gets DPP)

Mitchell - one of my first picked and I reckon a great pick for the godawful CTR spot

I’ve registered for NRL fantasy...
Is SuperCoach better?
Is it based on players performances each week? Or based on their trade value each week?
This forum is primarily for players of Fantasy, so that is the answer you will get here.
They are pretty similar with a few differences in scoring (Supercoach being friendlier to try scorers and attacking players) positional lineup (SC combines centres+ wingers, sepeartes half and five-eighth) and site design (personal preferences but in previous years the fantays website has been much more user friendly)
Fantasy this year has introduced ranked subs and a smaller bench, first year they've run with it, so we'll see how much it changes things.
Prices change every week based solely on on-field performance (if you don't play you don't change price) Trades in and out have no bearing on price.
Plenty of advice in these threads about who are useful players.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 9
Alright guys I need some serious help here. I have been chopping and changing between these three all day for two positions.
Arrow, Murray, Rochow.
- Word is Arrow will swap from Prop to Lock mid game pushing Carty to 2RF and James to FRF. Does he keep is spot in the team of Latu when Wallace is back?
- I personally think Murray will still get 50-55 minutes until he becomes a starter and starts getting 60-70 minutes. Do I keep him in my team and save a trade in a couple of weeks?
- Is Rochow's job secure? Any point keeping him in my team to make some cash when he could be relegated to the bench and 30 minutes in a couple weeks time??

I've gone from $450k ITB last night to a team with exactly $0 ITB
Smith,
Rochow, Lodge
Merrin, SST, Arrow
Croft, Cartwright
Mitchell, Kennar
Tedesco, Ponga, Dufty
Cook, Lichaa, RFM, Griffin, Nicholls, Katoa, Havili, Kikau
No half coverage, no centre coverage, no bank. Living life on the edge.
