Other than that no real bad options.

Yeah ok thanks my group said we're not allow to captain CS9 so that's why I went LOLO

    To make it more interesting

That ounds interesting. Are most running Lolol then?

Hey guys, posted this a few pages back.

Finally put a team together, so much value in the 2rf and not enough spots for them all !
Not sure about arrow at this stage, i want to wait and see what happens when Wallace returns.

    CS9
    Rochow, Lodge.
    SST, Whitehead, RFM.
    Thurston, Croft.
    Isaako, Hiku.
    Tedesco, Ponga, Inglis.

    Cook, Lichaa, Griffin, Cartwright.

    Nicholls, Havilli, Croker, Katoa.

$107k remaining, should be enough money to upgrade any mid range 2rf's who flop.

Hoping Inglis gets dpp today and i can swap him into the centres for Isaako.

I reckon Thurston is in for a big year and i can't go without him.

    Any glaring issues ??

there is definitely a group mentality that pushes alot of teams in one direction.

not saying its a bad thing, just that it exists. you feel more comfortable with a selection when others are doing the same thing, its human nature.

its kind of funny to watch the ebbs and flows of certain players. eg Croft came into everyones team. then there was a period where alot of people started onto niko. that seems to have evened back out a little (that or dif people are posting teams now).

Yeah, it was fun to watch that with TPJ too. Quickly in....... quickly out.....
Lots of reactions to TLT rumours and lists, less analysis of individuals. I do this too! Analysis is hard, and requires stats and guesses. Lists are easy.

and one change (eg choosing to bin cam murray (still not sure if thats the right move)) - can cause a massive reshuffle in your deck. you start looking at all other sorts of options. then start questioning if you really need X player, etc.

    Cook
    Lichea
    Arrow
    Nicholls

By putting Aubs in, i had to ditch Niko in the halves bring Cartwright off the bench and add Nicholls to the 17. What do you think. Basically Im punting Nicholls and Aubs to outscore Niko and Kennar.

    Agree/disagree?

I like it. I have both maubs and Nicholls in the 17.

Thing is some lock in players who are popular overall dictate the team, as there is not a lot of $$ or slots to go around...
It comes down to a few things in the end, how many cheapies in your 17, Smith or Tedesco (or both) and Cartwright on the bench or another half (Means possibly one less cow on bench)

Then half are spending their cash in the front spots opting to rely on Kennar/Hiku/Katoa to score well at the back
The other half are spreading their cash on fallen guns like Inglis/Hayne/Leilua/Aubo/Mitchell [insert 500-600k player] and going cheap on some middle 2RF

Thing going cheap at the back is you will eventually need some guns and there just isn't that many of them who are reliable
Some years we are spolit but not so much this year and you always had 4 extra spots dedicated to WFB/CTR on the bench to let you swap with or make $$

This year you basically have 4 spots total on the bench to cover all positions. No one will generally run a back in 13-17 and you may have players like Havili/Croker in those 2.
So perhaps 1-2 cracks at the cherry and hope they score tries because if your gun forwards don't increase in $$ you may be screwed

    Smith (38%)
    Lodge (32%)

    Croft (21%) Cartwright (46%)
    Hiku (33%)
    Tedesco (31%) Ponga (34%)

    FWIW, here is my team.

    Smith (C)
    Lodge Arrow
    Brown Merrin RFM
    Niko Cartwright
    Leilua Inglis
    Mitchell Ponga Katoa

    R: Lichaa, Cook, Rochow, Griffin
    E: Nicholls, Havili, Croker, Isaako.

Tempted to punt half coverage (croker) for Kikau.. but think i'll just run with Croker. Biggest concern is probably Cartwright, and I guess guys like Leilua, Inglis, Katoa..

May bring Godinet in for Isaako. See how I feel. FRF are weak as, Hoping to get a few dollarydoos from Rochow and a few others to upgrade Arrow or Nichols.

Good looking side. Tohu is more popular than I'd be comfortable with, because Warriors. And Friz is a bit of a gamble with injuries, origin and and random Dragons bench. Maybe Tohu down to NAS/RFM and Friz up to Taupau (targeting DPP)?

TBH i'd rather have Friz and Tohu than NAS and Taupau.

Big fan of the Friz, but yeah i guess always a chance of injury. Don't think the bench is too much of a worry.

    wolfking wrote:So, I wasn't looking at round 13 players this early on as I never do but I'd thought I'd actually have a look and break down the potential players for every position a little more that I think would be worth looking at in each position;

    Hookers: Griffin, Cook, Friend

The rest not worth noting so Cook and Friend the winners here, Griffin too if he can keep his spot.  Koro could be a smokie if he shows some form but Granville, King (probably not worth it) and whoever plays hooker for the Tigs that week not worth a trade.

Front Row: Alvaro, Ese, SST, Liu, AFB, Taupau, Rochow

Not much here.  Taupau looks the pick along with SST and possibly Liu.  Fifita will play origin too IMO, but if he doesn't for some reason he'll be a must have.  Rochow if he's still there by some miracle will be good and hopefully AFB can keep a spot too.  Ese might be an okay prospect moving forward too.  Not much else, Scott and McLean may be okay but can't see them really excelling.

Second Row: Tolo, Gal, Lowe, Brown, Griffin, Surgess, Murray, Crichton, Aubbs.

A few here with Brown, Tolo, Gal and the Souths trio looking the goods, so lots of potential for round 13.  JTurbo will play origin.  Lowe could be a smokie.

Halves: JT, Moses, Walker, Cronk, DCE

A few good options here.  Others are Moylan, Townsend, Watson, JRey, but no one you'd really waste a trade on.

    Centre: Moga, Aubbs,

Slim pickings.  Dugan will play origin, as will Hayne IMO.  This is where the rookies need to stand up.

    WFB: Ponga, Guth, AJ,

Again, not much, Holmes, Teddy, Turbo all out for origin, so again need some rookies.

I don't know what that proved but I think it kind of shows it's hard to really get a solid starting team with round 13 in mind.  A lot is going to happen between now and then.

Wasn't a Eng v NZ test being played on an origin weekend also? This would affect a lot of the likely test players availability... and Wayne Bennett!

    2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 9 - Page 18 Empty Help Needed

    Post by Chester-Dragons Wed Mar 07, 2018 1:46 pm

Haven’t played NRL fantasy in a number of years and just wanted some advice as how to go about it.

    I’ve registered for NRL fantasy...
    Is SuperCoach better?
Is it based on players performances each week? Or based on their trade value each week?

    Here is my current team;
    D. Cook
    D. Alvaro
    D. Klemmer
    F. Kaufusi
    J. Thompson
    N. Asofa-Solomona
    B. Croft
    N. Cleary
    J. Roberts
    P. Hiku
    J. Tedesco
    D. Gagai
    S. Katoa

    Interchange.
    M. Lodge
    S. Kasiano
    D. Liu

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Klemmer I think is a good little POD
JThompson should be good on the edge but not sure if he will be as good as he was at St George.
Kasiano isn’t named for the Storm.
    Liu is a good cover.
    Everyone else are solid picks.

    Thanks mate!

Will it be a good side for future rounds?
Does fantasy rely on monetary later trades? Or point by point for each week?
