Some people obsess too much over bench utilities

Friend averaged 70 minutes last year with Matterson on the bench
Friend averaged 75 minutes last year with Watson on the bench (ignoring the game where he got injured after 3 minutes)
Smith averaged 74 minutes with Griffin on the bench
Hodgson averaged 78 minutes with Baptiste on the bench
McCullough averaged 80 minutes with KNik on the bench (only 2 games)

Big minute hookers are big minute hookers whatever the bench.

Its been said before and will get said again. Coaches like winning games, and they don't do that by randomly subbing off their best players just to give someone a run. NRL is not "everyone gets a prize" day.

    Adding to above

Godinet, Griffin and Havili are not necessarily big minute hookers, and it is fair to wonder about what sort of game time they will see

Is godinet even in the top 30?

Just read a nice article earlier about jeremy marshall king. Only got a top 30 spot when suli was sacked. Til that point he was preparing to go back to being a demolition worker. Then found out last friday he would be picked in the top 17 and couldnt believe it

    Guerra's 80min 2RF scores from last year.
    47, 81, 57, 48, 59, 65, 59

The catch is there's 5 tries in 7 games there.

    His 2016 80min 2RF avg is 49.

Who would you drop out of Croker and Havili for Kikau (ignore covering a position or anything like that, talking purely score wise). Currently thinking drop Havili.

If he plays 80 there is plenty of value there but with quality backrow options on the bench for the knights I'm not sure he gets it

    'twas the night before footy
    and in fantasy town
I was way outta my depth
    and feeling a bit down

having not looked at a player
    or even a stat
    and whole new game format
"what the fucks up with that!?!"

    in need of advice
    and a suggestion or two
    who do I turn to
    other than you?

    what should I be doing
    what players are hot
    what's everyone's strategies
    and what should I not?

    these are my questions
and I hope you can help
    else I'm up the provebial

Thanks! Yeah who knows why I chose to leave the cushiest 35 hour per week max job for the 48 hour per week minimum job plus unpaid overtime plus some weekends. It is certainly not fantasy friendly.

My team is basically already this, even without being able to follow much of these threads (you all post way too much, I could never keep up). But I've picked too many expensive guys and run out of cash. There is so much potential value that I don't want to dump anyone.

raiders with a juicy opening draw. would love cotric. but cant afford him.

anyone taking a punt on williams? i have money sitting there that could fund him. not sure how he beat austin to start, and on top of that the rumours are that sezer will go to 9 if anything so he is likely to play 80

avg of 33 between 2014-16 priced at 20. feels like a trap, but so do many of these cheapies. wish the format was the same as last year. i would be watching more games with a keen interest

I don't think its useful to look only at someone's 80 minute scores.

No forward plays 80 minutes every single week, so by discarding the weeks when they get a rest you are getting a false idea of what the reality will be.
Fair enough to ignore injury affected games, but if he just got a rest after 60 minutes, one week, that is the wort of thing that will happen sometimes this year so you should cater for it in your predictions.

Guerra played 10 games at 2nd row last year (including finals) for average of 54 points, invluding 5 tries in 10 games

    2016 was 48 points.

Both better than his priced average of 43, but who knows if he can replicate at a new club

I had Williams paired with Carty in the halves in order to get fifita into my FRF

but have now downgraded Rochow to Papalii, flicked Williams for Croft
