might wanna consider isaako. dpp, hes gonna be kicking goals with kahus broken jaw and gives you money to fix croft up next week. he has a low b/e of 4.Rabbit wrote:

Now with Aubbs, I thought about it hard, but there’s no one to bring in? If I do, it’s still a lousy centre, no DPP and no back up. I think the black widow has me in his grasp......again. There’s no fuckin escape once you’ve got the bastard.

Out of the three @L-Jimmy I'd grab Robinson. All are risky (unknown half, winger and a guy not getting great minutes) but I feel Robinson probably has the most security what with Toops injury and he is playing at the Roosters who will find their feet soon enough.
Did you double trade first round mate?
Thanks @Mearcats - I appreciate the thought and that seems like pretty solid logic there. I did trade after the first round, going Katoa&Nicholls > Douhickey and Thompson. And this round have swapped Croft > Murray, with 43k ITB
Now sitting with:
Smith
Lodge Arrow
Murray RFM TPJ
JT Douhickey
GI Jayne
Ponga Teddy Thompson
Cook NAS Griffin Kikau
Carty Lichaa Havili Isaako
Any suggestions?

If I had an answer I was sure on myself I would tell you, but I am struggling with the same question myself.
He wouldn't be the first player to shine in a short rookie season and then fade when getting a full time spot (Luke Brooks smashed it in his first ever game)
is the 2 game season so far a better indicator than his 5 previous games (mostly in origin depleted lineups)?
Might downgrade to Doueihi or JMK, might hold and hope Have not yet made a decision.

Vunivalu plays his 50th game on Thursday & what a try scoring strike rate he has. He has scored 48 tries in 49 games.

I can't help but think players like Isaako, RFM, etc. who have had good scoring games so far and yet to score a try or two (apart from RFM) that all it takes is a 50-60 point game (which isn't that outrageous this year for these rookies and I think will come very soon) to be in the same category of guys like Kikau, Kennar, Thompson who all have negative BE's.

I know Filth is but is anyone going to play L. Croker in their starting halves this week especially if you have Carty as 1 of your halves. Carty back at lock so he won't play 80 minutes so he's probably best off the bench 14-17 position. Croker was probably in line to score 40+ if he hadn't of got a knock & subsequent hia. He would of got great confidence from the Eels game.

Rabbit wrote:I had such a shit week last week, I’m going to do what I never do. Ask for advice. I can’t believe the carnage from 826 to 641 with basically the same team.
I’m thinking Croft to Benji jnr, for coverage at FB and half, plus Papalli to Ese Ese. I think he’s the best of the Arrow, TPJ, EE trio. I’ll hang on to Lolohea as I reckon he will end up gold.
Leaves me with this;
Cook, McInnes
Ese Ese, McGuire
Murray, Fitzgibbon, Rochow, Griffin, RFM
Cleary, Douehie, Cartwright
Kennar, Aubbs
Ponga, Benji Jnr, Thompson
Kikau, Havalli, Godinet, Lolohea
I know Aubbs is an absolute trap, but he can wait unless he doesn’t start, then I’m fucked as I have no CTR cover.
Thoughts ?
In the interest of fair play and cos I was already half way through it, I'll do my best anyways Rabs, take it with a grain of salt.
I like the hooker combo, ballsy not to do Smith but no one has ever accused you of being anything but so it makes sense.
Good to see someone running with Easy E. I'm not personally sold on Moose (and I'm a Broncs fan so that's saying something). Any room to move there? It's certainly not a pressing issue and he can definitely sit but if you wanted to then you could offload him to free up some cash. Some good options out there that would allow you to do so. Tamou (tho missing the DPP) TPJ or even big Nelson.
2RF and HLF are solid, wouldn't change a thing.
As you've already identified, CTR/WFB are where you are hurting. I'd have to agree that Aubbs is probably you're best bet regarding someone to offload or alternatively Lolohea. If you're set on a DPP player you could do worse than Masters or SMat or alternatively go with a DPP CTR/WFB which at least allows you some cover that you are lacking in that position. Fergusson seems to be the Roosters attacking choice or if you can stretch it, Hoppa.
How sure are you on JMK that you are prepared to use a trade on him? I started the season with him (knew nothing about him but he was on a team list and basement price DPP) but his job security must be questionable.
Havili and Godinet are tying up space on your bench that could be used for money making. Maybe it's time to cut your losses, jump on someone like Robinson etc that can garner you some quick coin and work from there.
Just a thought mate.

Mate, outside of Lichaa that everyone has spoken about, the only other things I can see are Jayne, GI, Carty and Havili.
GI is a hold for now on the potential of a move to FB. If he gets even a little more involved and a bit more ball then even at CTR he can go ok.
Carty is a watch closely for me. I also have him and am basically just hoping for one decent score to give him a larger price bump and then I'll probably offload.
Havili is a very shallow, slow burning cow. You'll either have to hope Sticky or one of the three halves at Raiders die or cut him lose sooner or later.
Jayne, just get off him. So uninterested. Seems like a petulant child that is sulking cos he's playing CTR. Also chewing up a bucket load of coin.
They're about the only points that leap out to me mate, otherwise, business as usual!

Ummm so i dont know if other leagues are experiencing any irregularities but i thin filth's league is. So i'm 0-2 so far both losses were less than 8 points and yet i have a positive points differential of 75. If im -8 from one game and -6 from another how can i be +75?

Cheers mate - I reckon you're on the money about Jayne there. Will hold on to Havili and Carty until they top out, and keep they faith with GI a little longer. Shame. I really liked GI Jayne as a old-school combo.

I was considering selling JFH but playing the Dogs (30 mins edge, 20-25 lock) & with a b/e of 15 I think he can score 30-35 & maybe score a try which would increase his points to 45ish. I know he has missed quite a few tackles but both games were at Penrith in high 30 degree heat so I'm hoping a combination of increased match fitness & playing at night in cooler temperatures will decrease his missed tackles as he will be less fatigued.

I'm hoping this week Griffin doesn't pull the ol switcharoo and starts with Kikau as named and he plays 40+ and JFH is benched. Hoping against hope but surely after leaking points in the first half two weeks in a row despite coming back to win he has mind to change it up.

Cheers for the Wednesday arv laugh anyways ya wet blanket!
You’re right. I won’t listen to anybody really. I give the responses a cursory glance, scoff, then move on. For the record Mearsy, I don’t do downvotes for a very simple reason. Whoever you hit with a downvote, the recipient actually receives two upvotes. I brought that in when they made me an undercover mod.

Mate I'm dumping Maubs also. And Croft. Roosters play last so Maubs could play centre or bench and get 30min or could get dropped altogether with his head gash and then you'll have no options. In my case I'm going Maubs to Benji jnr via dpp and Croft to a gun (maybe JT, DCE or McCullough). But in your case I'd probably go Maubs to Hiku (yeah eww I know) and upgrade Croft to a gun. At least his job security should be good and good for a few price rises.

Worth a thought, but I dunno, I think the Bonzos are about to get belted on a weekly basis. Last week was their grand final. All I can see Isaako doing is looking at his boots while the other team is taking conversations.

Yeah he could of benched Kikau the last 2 weeks due to the heat. I do have both JFH & Kikau so I will start whoever is named in the 13. I think Kikau is a better impact forward off the bench & also Griffin uses JFH at lock when Merrin has his rest.
