If you can afford to make the trade you want by getting rid of Nichools, I would ditch him first.

Low BE this week means he'll probably still make cash, and there is still a chance he eventually makes the move back to 6 or edge back row where his fantasy potential can be maximised (or his fantasy suckiness can be minimised if you want to look at it that way)

Out of curiosity, what would force you to consider not captaining him (besides bye round)? I often see people saying they captain him each week because of previous years but when does it become clear there are better options? I ask this as somebody who captains him every week but doesn't know why....

Not suggesting anything, just something I noticed.
Not answering your exact question, but on a slightly related tangent, Finch and Random annoy me because their avatars look almost identical and I always get confused as to who is posting.
Similar to that was Honeysett using a picture of Archer (the TV Show) as his avatar and I always got him confused with Archer (the bottom bitch of Tyson Frizell)

I had captain Cook last round... I got my hopes up when Smith scored 50

Was expecting around a 45 average for SST with those minutes, but doesn't look to be.
He was awesome a couple of years ago when he was SR/WFB. Reliable 40 points in 40 mins every week off the bench.
49 mins, 57 mins and 45 mins for a 32 average thus far..
