    C Crichton will not be selected for origin. And only has a month or so left in the team before DWZ comes back

    Only cheap WFB/CTR's I can justify to bring in are GI, Hiku, Gennings, Sio, JMK and Fizz.

    Players on the trading block are Havili, Katoa or Croker if I go JMK. Would love to keep Katoa and see where he fits once fit but I guess he can be a basement trade in for a double trade to a gun if he looks good later on.

    I'd take Holmes in a week or two. Secure spot, should play fullback in rd 13 (not sure if thats a good or bad thing yet?) and is someone I'd back to have a few big games somewhere while he loiters in my EMGs. Not the worst play if a short term injury comes back either.

    Looking at bringing in a CTR. Is Marsters worth the cash? Or better off rolling with a CTR/WFB in Hiku. Looking at shifting on Manu by the way.

    Why did people buy or are considering Gennings with French back next round and reportedly possibly Guth too

    Definitely Winger lottery mate. Problem is there isn't much else around. He has very average base stats even for a winger but again, not much else going. I thought he looked small for a modern day winger when watching him on the weekend, but just checked his profile and they reckon he is 100 kegs Shocked

    looking to trade out JBrom this week, considering Perrett as he should get some more minutes with Manly's injuries in their forward pack, feels a bit sideways though, any suggestions?

    I considered him for that very reason. He was potentially giving me a couple of weeks to cover Kennar and then becoming a red dot for loophole purposes.

    I think many are considering him for a longer stint

    Thoughts on these would be much appreciated.

    Option A

    Smith > DCE
    Doughi > Rochow

    Leaves me with a 'fairly' balanced team.

    Option B
    Smith > Macca
    Which forces me to play either Croker or Doughi as second half as I wont have enough to trade Doughi to anyone worth having.

    Looking at his stats I'm surprised he is only averaging 7 tackles a game as a Centre who has been involved in very low scoring games (albeit penalty riddled games).

    He hasn't scored a try yet so probably has a couple of 50 plus games in him to come. If you have a serious bank then he could well be worth the extra 100k as a POD. In saying that, can you spend that money elsewhere for the extra points by taking the uncomplicated (safe) Centre route with Hiku. At this stage I'd go Hiku for his DPP cover at the back and the 110k saving and solid Centre base stats.

    a) $150k is a made up number. Use whatever value you want. Although really, if you only get $150k from your cash cows, you probably aren't making enough money.

    b) Carty has to be traded out. The question is not 'should you spend a trade' , but 'who do you spend that trade on' .

    Here's where I am at with a made up number, using a few numbers to derive it, but most importantly a plan of where I reasonably expect to get to in this new game format Smile

    Current team valued at ~$11.4m and conservatively projecting it to be worth $13.1m

    I think I need a squad of 17 guns + 1 good EMG, and 3 cashouts, and I value that squad at about 14.3m => need to make 1.2m in new CCs.

    Of my current squad I hope to have 8 guys in my final squad => gonna have to use up 13 trades of 26 currently available.

    That leaves 13 trades to cover for injuries, bye strategy, and making the $1.2m.

    If possible I'd like 4 trades to deal with injuries but if I am going to go for gold I think I'll need to revise that down to 3 with 1 trade for the bye rounds (most of the planning for that will have to come in the order I bring in guns and cows) so that leaves 9 for CCs. That means $1.2m/9 =~ $130k per CC

    Admittedly bugger all of this game is predictable so this kind of planning only helps as a bit of a guide, but at least it gives me somewhere to head to and a bit of a plan.

    I don't like B more than I don't like A.

    Option B reads pay 50K and a trade for a similar season score but a better gut feeling and leaves you with slim half options.

    Option A reads as one sideways trade for guns in different positions and one mostly spent cow to a half spent cow (100K to go maybe).

    There aren't many trade in options this week so I don't have very good ideas myself if you don't like Maloney (totally understandable). If you feel Smith must go by all means proceed with Option A (2 good rd 13 trade ins at least).

    Only way I can get a decent half is by dumping Smith or whitehead... Maloney obviously an option who I'll probably end up bringing in for carty and hope for the best

    I reckon better points with your trade ins (If JFH at lock goes for 40+ - your gut call here)

    Hinges on what you project them all at

    For me:

    Merrin = 45
    Carty = 15

    Maloney = 30
    JFH = 35-45

    Like freeing the cash up personally
