Alternatively, get the gun that will eventually replace Thompson and use Thompson to upgrade another position later.

@StormTrooper96 only reason to bring a gun WFB is to keep but it'd be a waste with a good back 3 like you have already. I think you should find a way to bring in someone cheap to cover.

Is there any indication that Doughey will play any meaningful role from the bench? or is here there to purely cover Arey incase he goes down again?

Re: NRL Fantasy 2018 Thread Part 24
Have toyed with the idea of bringing in Maloney but I think I'll look for consistency with Koro so my team will line up like this
Cook
Fifita Lodge
Murray Arrow RFM
DCE Koro
Mitchell Isaako
Tedesco Ponga Thompson
Kikau
Griffin
Rochow
JFH
TPJ
Doueihi
Kennar
JMK
Plan is to turn Griffin/Rochow/TPJ into SJ or maybe Gutho if he makes an early return. Would love a gun 2RF in there soonish too but I guess I have to be patient and keep milking those cows lol. Any obvious players I should keep an eye on that would strengthen my team? I don't have much of a watchlist as such

The beauty of the draw this week if I keep Havili (which I think I will as see if he gets 50mins again and half decent score) is Manly play 2nd to last and Panthers last so can do Croker to Leota or Maloney (bleurgh) depending on how I'm travelling. Even playing Rd 13 I'm not sure Croker is worth holding any longer

Wolfy I always value you opinion. If Turbo doesn't make the cut I will be running with only 2 WFB this week as my cover is injured. Should I trade CS9 for a gun WFB in RTS/Teddy/Edwards? I will then have 3 set and forget WFB in Ponga Turbo and one of the three. Thoughts??
My Hookers would then be Cook and Havili.
Apples and Oranges when you start talking about team balance.
Smith should out average any WFB.
None of those guys play rd 13.
Its sideways to the point of being backwards.
You have Katoa, Kennar and Turbo injured. Adding another gun to that position will have you very heavy in a traditionally volatile position. I'm in a similar spot and I think I'll take the man down for 1 week. It sucks but a trade is more valuable than 20-30 points especially at the start of a season. Try to look at your team beyond this week when you are considering moves like this.

This is my way of thinking now, which is the complete opposite of 24 hours ago! I may even bring him in for a couple of weeks. Carty needs to go, why not bring a similarly priced bloke in who could make 100k to justify the trade.
I've saved 2 trades, I'm happy to take the risk and had to use one on Carty anyway.
For the haters-I'm not expecting last week's points; I'd be happy with a couple of 30's and 80k over the next fortnight and I need a half anyway.
In regards Tyrone May changing everything, he hardly kicked last year in general play and didn't take any kicks at goal either. Even if he is on track to come back you would be sceptical that he would be in the run on side first game back.
I thought it took 150k to justify a money making trade this season with the new pricing?

a) $150k is a made up number. Use whatever value you want. Although really, if you only get $150k from your cash cows, you probably aren't making enough money.
b) Carty has to be traded out. The question is not 'should you spend a trade' , but 'who do you spend that trade on' .

Rabbitohs bench utility minutes.
Round 1, 0 minutes (Hymel Hunt unused)
Round 2, 33 minutes for Fuimaono (covered Inglis injury)
Round 3, 13 minutes for Hymel Hunt
Round 4, 54 minutes for Burns (covered Jennings injury)
I don't think you can rely on Doueihi getting bug minutes, unless someone gets injured.

Two trades this week:
Cartright - DCE
SST - Terepo
Leaves me with
Smith
Lodge Kikau
Murray RFM Griffin
Doughy DCE
Aitken Mitchell
Teddy Dufty Ponga
Cook, Arrow, Rochow, Thompson
Terepo, Issako, Havili, Nicholls
11k in the bank.
I'm sticking by Captain Smith and backing him to bounce back and prompt a sea of regret amongst those that know you shouldn't trade him out.

What do you gents think about CCrichton as a cash out? Seems to be fairly secure and might jag some tries.... winger lottery??

I agree with 150k being about right now. I think a lot of us had it at around 100k over the last few years. This isn't a trade purely to make money though. It is a trade of necessity as 2 of my 3 Halves are benched this week (Halves are Carty/Doohickey/Niko) so one of them has to go for a starter.
There is a decent chance Carty loses 50k over the next few weeks. There is a decent chance Maloney makes 100k over the next few weeks. Having banked 2 trades and using one to ensure I have 2 starting Halves justifies the trade itself for me. If it ends up being a 150k swing in the next few weeks then that is a bonus

I'm considering as a Smith replacement. The only thing I'm struggling with (for almost all my options) is that I'm looking to bring in a rd 13 player, and the two main contenders are a probably good chance for origin selection (Crichton and DCE). Gah.

He's talking about the Panthers winger but I think they are brothers
