If I could have my time over. The two changes Id make, Starting with Thompson over JCroker and using that money to bring DCE in early.

Would have me in much better place. although top 100 aint to shit.

When I first started playing this game (back in the Dream Team days) I only did so cos my boss had wrangled me into his league. I enjoyed footy and would watch two to three games a week but that was about it. Most of the guys I was playing with were about the same and the lack of the depth that went into the game of fantasy itself was what drove me to look for more info.

Stumbling across Sportal couldn't have been a better discovery. By that point in time I was here in China and watching 8 games a week week in week out. The statistical depth and analysis that guys like Milchy, Random and later Boozey etc went into was phenomenal. Really spurred me on to getting further into the game. There were some great characters around at that point in time too, guys like Arsen, Cuban, Rooster Booster and Rabbits. The banter and lightheartedness helped offset what was quickly becoming quite a time consuming addiction for me.

The last couple of years I have been a bit less invested. I don't really have the time (considering in the last 6 months I have been "home" for a total of 26 days) and in as much as I would love to be ultra competitive, am happy just to try and improve on my prior year. I am travelling ok so far this year, above where I have been at any other previous point in time so as long as I can continue that I'll feel like I've achieved something.

    Cheers cob.

I can honestly say that with out you lads id be up the creek. My team is a concoction of a the heavily spoken about players, ive managed to dodge most of the duds and importantly, have timed my trades well.

Yeah, Random's write ups were legendary. Whatever became of that guy... Very Happy ?

That 8 in 80 has me spooked. I can grab MBye or DCE now no dramas, or I can grab JMK as another cashie and hope he averages his 40 he is capable of. Thoughts anyone?

If I go JMK my bank will be 1 million cheer

Like most halfs JMK will have his down weeks (I.e 8 in 80) but most weeks he will range 30-40 I reckon.

In saying that I also have DCE & Matterson so running JMK on the bench.

If I had the chance to add DCE now for points I would do it!! I don't think JMKs cash outweighs that.

Yeah, that's my dilemma. I still need to look at potential price rises before making the final decision. Always seems to be a fire I'm putting out somewhere else every time I have a good look at DCE.

I miss the match threads. Sometimes theres just a little too much fantasy in the main thread during a game, people last night saying what shit footballers Keary and Teddy are based totally of fantasy scores.

What's the point of holding RFM? Looking at 3 round predictor if averages 45pts he rises 37k and not sure he'll even achieve that average. Seems more peaked than Lodge Griffin and Havili and his 61pts drops out after this week. Needs a big game to stay in my team.

Griffin only one plays 13 but not sure if he worth holding that long either

Holy shit. Just caught up on two threads. My team is so crap this year. I need cash. At least I'm saving trades.

My picks for 1st try scorer tonight are Vunivalu and Paul Vaughan, if someone wants to add me to a list that's cool Very Happy

Be on later tonight after work for Dragons/Sharks!

FWIW: I'm trading Lodge - Su'a. I need cash. I want to do Lodge - JFH but that only nets me 12K or something.

    Oh well.

RFM seems to have more potential to bust out a big score than the others. He's nowhere near a priority trade out for me.

On a side note damn that's a nice team you have. I really like where you've spent your money to have such a strong 17 this early in the season. Keep it up!

Thanks! I've definitely peaked too early. No way I can sustain it until September.
I'm really happy with my team. It looks even better now it has Macca in it. I've had a look at at lots of other teams up the top and I haven't found one I would rather trade teams with, so happy with that.

For those of you missing Honeysett's write ups and model like hands, check out NRL Retarded All Stars on Facebook. Very similar writing style to HS. I only read the Round wash ups though, not the previews. Some of you are already on there.

This forum as been great for a rookie like myself. Must admit I used to spend all my time on nrlsctalk but since stumbling onto this place I visit there less frequent. Thanks to all the contributors, some great info being shared.
    Cheers,
