With no danger of getting a lowest scorer AE, I don't see any value at all in trading to an NPR rather than even a base price 15 point scorer in position 21. That 15 points in position 21 - if you somehow need your 4th AE to count, or need one week cover for an injured centre without wasting a trade - is still more than 0 points.

The only "value" is that a guaranteed NPR will allow you to loophole every week, but in truth it's almost certain that you'll have a red dot somewhere in your 21 each week anyway.

    Mearcats wrote:Ok, take two...

    Trade Outs?-
    1. Kennar - Exactly as advertised preseason. Needs tries to sustain decent scores. Came back to earth with a 14 last week with a BE of 22 and big scores start dropping soon. I wouldn't say "needs" tries, had a 30+ score in rd2 without one but definitely helps. For me is in the same boat as Isaako last week. He's one decent score away from kick starting his scoring but will that score come. IMO, one week hold. A trade but not urgent. Hold.
    2. Doughy - Danger to lose cash playing small minutes in the number 14 jumper. Wasting a spot in a 21 man team praying for an injury is paving bad fantasy karma.A trade. Which shits me! I HATE trading negative BE players but he is either gonna bleed all his cash off playing from the bench or just chew up a bench spot for you (and the Ribbitohs) by not playing at all! Trade.
    3. Lodge - At a 35 score for the next 3 weeks he makes 2k. Peaked cow who doesn't play 13. Scores are consistent but aren't exciting enough to hope there is more. Infected ass. Possibly carrying an injury but I feel I'm just using that as an excuse to hold him. His ceiling so far is 51 and even if he scored that every week for the next three weeks he'd only make 80ish k. Not gonna happen. I will have to hold one more week due to more pressing issues (like feckin Inglis). Otherwise, Trade but not urgent.
    4. Griffin / Rochow - Both play 13 but subpar scores last weekend may drop some cash on their way to rd13. Is the rd13 score reason enough with limited cash to come good enough? Why bother carrying a midranger when you can have a probable gun that plays 13 in Surgess? Especially if they show signs of losing cash? Trade.
    5. Hiku - ..................... NZ lost on the weekend and Hiku will be replaced by Beale in an effort to right the ship. Hold. Hiku looks frail defensively and has a rubbish technique which means he misses a lot of tackles. But, he only has a BE of 28 which he should cover in base stats. Last week was the first week he went sub 100mts (last weeks 82 was about 60 less than his average) and he was playing in a spot where Oates decided to make him his batty boy. Should be sharper this week, albeit against an undefeated Dragons outfit. Hold for mine.
    6. LCroker - Plays the ball backwards......... Is pretty much averaging his breakeven. Doesn't look to have a big score in him. Plays rd 13 but who wants 15 points? Trade. I got off him two weeks ago. He's a definite trade.
    7. Inglis - Playing slow and not looking sharp. Has rested on his laurels with QLD selection guaranteed. People have Hiku and other options while GIs cash could be used elsewhere. Trade. Unfortunately, in that position any trade is going to be sideways or require bank to upgrade to Aitken or a keeper. No obvious cash cows at the moment though a possibility that that will chance with Penny losing Mansour. Regardless, Inglis = Trade.
    8. TPJ - Wayne has realised that he should use fantasy scores to determine starting minutes. Macca, Sua, Ofa, Lodge, Glenn and Thiday to start ahead of him next week. I think he's a hold. At least for another week. Kinda depends on Broncs team list but if it's favourable he's a hold. If you have really good depth across your FRF 2RF then could downgrade him to a Gosi.Su'a type but I'd be happy with a one week hold.
    9. Dufty - Relied on tries to get two mediocre scores in the last 2 weeks. Not looking to be a keeper and his big score will dropout soon. Plays 13 though. Different one cos many will disagree with this statement but I don't think he'll be a top 5 WFB which means he ain't a keeper. The buy low sell high rule dictates that you should sell a peaked non keeper and he has peaked. Statistically he's slightly under priced but that's due to the 81 being in there. Will drop out in a two weeks. IMO Trade.
    10. Thompson - After a great run he has likely reached peak value. Plays rd 13 and spot seems secure enough but probably isnt a keeper like more premium options Another interesting one but a hold for me. At least for this week. He is definitely close and has made a tonne of cash but will hold for this week to see what he can do. Would be nice to ride him all the way through to 13 if possible but I won't let a cow run dry. BE should be achievable this week at least.

Amazing mate - good to hear a different opinion on Dufty.

I think the fact i have him is clouding my judgment..

tbh I might go Koroisau over Matterson if Koroisau is going to play 80 minutes.

    Cook
    Arrow surgess
    Jurbo, Murray, Harris
    Dce, Cronk
    Croker, isaako
    Teddy, ponga, hiku

    Rfm, Kikau, jfh, maloney

    Havili, su’a, goeski, Nichols.

Pretty happy with make up of team this week. Obviously a few weaknesses but there aren’t that many backs you’d confidently throw money at. Happy to wait and see. Stoked with combination of emg players, plenty of money left in them. Will all be ready for the picking in a few rds. Baring injuries I’ll try limit trades from here. Have banked 3 so far.

Feel have I missed anything? I guess Murray isn’t a certainty at this stage. See how that plays out. Hope to maintain scoring and rankings for the coming weeks.

JFH DPP gives a bit more depth at FRF and locks in my Lodge>Su'a trade. Will wait for team lists to see what else gets thrown up

Cheers SI. You just had to mention the Tigers game.
Pretty relaxing day, still on honeymoon in Port Douglas.

My trades this week look like Lichaa and Griffin out for SJ and Su’A, pending team lists.

Yep, Lichaa can fuck right off. I have tentatively done Lichaa to Tohu.

Hard to tell without knowing Origin teams. Plenty of people will have the likes of Cook, Mitchell, Api, DCE who pencilled in as R13 players but might not be.

All I know is any cashouts from now will be to cheapies who play R13 (so Gos over Sua) who hopefully peak after 13 and can in turn be cashed out to R17 cheapies.

Surely Cook is ahead of Api for Origin?

I am starting to think Cook will be the Origin hooker this year...

    McInnes also a chance too.

I think you're right in your own analysis mate. As you said, you do have a fair few cows and middies... Unfortunately they all shit the bed at once. That being said, that doesn't mean that because it happened this week they're all going to become serial shitters! I have a mate who shits the bed every time he drinks, that's a serial shitter. I last shit the bed when I was a young'un, I grew out of it.

Sometimes persistence pays off and other times it pays to be aggressive. You've held for a while, maybe it's time to look at getting off of a few guys, even if they haven't quite peaked. Personally, I would get out of a high value mid ranger now to give you a good kitty. I know others will say hold but if you offload Griffin for Gosi or Su'a then that allows you to upgrade Lodge or Rochow.

I know you feel those two guys are trappy but what's worse? Being "caught in a trap" (the Elvis song just went through my head typing that) with one player but offsetting that by upgrading a mid to a gun (and getting the points increase) or staying stagnant and persisting for the sake of one or two small price bumps but getting left behind in the meantime? I know which is the lesser of the two evils in my eyes mate.

And fuck the fantasy blues! Ain't no one got time for that. Nobody likes to play games that aren't fun.... Asides from maybe accountants. Mix it up, do something you usually wouldn't and take a risk mate.

Thanks mate, appreciate your time. Yeah I think a double trade of a couple to Gossie or Sua is the go and and upgrade at the same time. Can actually get Surgess or Tolo in a single trade but should keep the money on hand up. I've played this year like I am in life. Save money and look for value, even if it's not the best quality. Time to be a bit more agressive I think.

Inglis also I'm not a fan of the previous gun theory with the likes of Bromwich and Graham springing to mind. Copley is safer IMO. Not that I'll be getting either of them, but the way he's going, he'll be okay at that centre spot comparatively. Just an out of the box suggestion if anyone is game on some risk lol

Copley has a history of pulling out some really dud scores just when he gets people interested in him. Plus seems to get injured alot. But as you say Inglis hasnt been much better. Id be avoiding both if i was looking for a centre

Cook or Peats you'd imagine for Blues hooker. Peats the incumbent but Cook in the best form. Don't know who I'd prefer as a Blues fan. Peats was great last year but Cook definitely the form hooker.

Ok it's not that hard to say. I wanna see Cook there, even though he's in my side.

Wallace too, especially if they go with Maloney and look at combinations. But, yeah, Cook or Api off bench at least. Point was it's hard to aim for a specific number in Round 13 unless your team is stacked with Kiwis and Poms.

With a new coach its hard to say with any certainty who will be selected.
