So my other left field curveball is D.Walker at CTR, now that he’s playing in the halves this week. Surely that sees him rake in at least the same scores as most current centres, but potentially more? Anyone know the long term plan here? Are Manly looking for half replacement, or will they stick with D.Walker for a while?

Long story short, I need a CTR under $400k to see me through at least a few weeks. Ideally someone who can make some money too, should/when I need to upgrade.

The options as I see it are Lawton, D.Walker and Capewell. All massive risks, but who’s the least risky?

Sorry for bringing sensible discussions from the limelight with my bottom feeding questions. Wink I just need one curveball to pay off this year.

Definitely not an option IMO at this stage. If Luke doesn't play this week I think he'll be back next week and if Luke was out and Tevaga fit then I would imagine he gets the nod over Lawton at hooker.

I quite like Walker as a punt at C. He's a bit undervalued one would think, and has the potential to put up keeper C scores. If he disappoints he at least plays 13 for you and then you could trade him out, and hopefully he would have made a bit of money in the meantime....

What's Scott cost? b4 his injury he was cheap from memory and now that the storm are firing he should score well.

Trading in Cogger and Lane this week. Anybody else I should pick up over Lane? Thinking Watson might actually get a decent run of 40s. Anybody else? Lane seems like a safe but perhaps not a very high yielding bet

Thanks Rippin. Yeah, I thought the D.Walker option had potential for success. Obvious potential for failure too, but worth a risk perhaps. If you look at L.Croker’s scores this year, I think at worst Walker scores like that, which isn’t far off a lot of centres... but he’s a better player than Croker, so hopefully scores considerably better?

Is anyone considering both Watson and Cogger this week? Halves pairings tend to average around 70-80 a game unless one of them is a real spud. Individually both are decent options and could easily average 35 each. This was popular a few years back when Albert Kelly and Aiden Sezer were close to base price playing for the Titans

I'm picking up both Cogger and Lane. I really fancied Watson (and think he'll make 150k+) but I didnt want him and Cogger at the same time Very Happy

Same reason I have to avoid Rapana - I have Cotric

I'm happy to hold Isaako for now, I'll be trading Gosie though.

When don't I think about NRL Fantasy?

I tossed up going double Knights halves this week.

Atm Gossie > Cogger seems like the only smart trade.

I really hope I don't pay for holding Dugan this week

Blain wrote:I already have Cogger to the poster who suggested him too me, think he'll go well. So ATM it's Sua vs Lane vs RTS.

I went for Rapana over RTS this week personally.

RTS averaged over 50 at Roosters in 2015, but a 44 last season at Warriors with 1 injury affected 4. Priced at 557k now and would get up to 675k if getting back up to a 45 average.

I have Su'a and tossing up whether to play him over JMK this week, depending on if JMK's the 6 or the 9. I view both around the 35-40 mark, but willing to see if JMK can handle the defence at HK. Sua's PPM isn't spectacular and not sure if he would've played 80 last game without McGuire getting injured.

Lane I'd give the edge too mainly because you're after a non-player and he's the only one scheduled to play Rd 13. Gosie would be due back that week, great news if he's not, but could jag another 30 odd points from Lane that week even if Gosie's back and RTS and Su'a take the bye.

I'd estimate them all to go up roughly the same in price.. RTS averaging 45, Su'a 35-40, Lane 35-40.. Maybe Lane makes the least, but provides an additional 30-50 in Rd 13?

I hadn't thought of this, I like it.
Even so, at the moment I really need the funds for future upgrades and Watson is priced similar to the likes of Isaako and Doueihi and doesn't give me the needed cash ITB

Could be a solid option as both have their roles so shouldn't impact each either too much.
Means once you see how they play together you can always at worst sell the dud.
Means you don't guess wrong and miss out on the better player.

Same reason 'Leipana' was a good combo in the past, if Rapana scores then generally Leilua gets a TA but this can be high risk if their side doesn't see any ball
Croker + Cotric could be another combo too, though really is an all or nothing play

Hunt and Milf was a great combo for me a couple of years ago.. not Crying or Very sad

At least having both means Lamb could only potentially fuck with 1 at a time.

Benefits with Cogger/Watson is that they are bound to see a lot of ball as halves. As opposed to out wide. I'm pretty keen on this, both will score pretty well on their own accord and it allows me to build a bit of a bank next week for some gun action

I'd prefer if it were referred to as the Connor-Cogger Connection from now on.

Of the Knights next 10 games, 8 are at home and the 2 away fixtures are against the Titans and Eels.

    Craziness.

Im considering taking the punt on Martin without a look first. The main reason being im trading in Kennar whose value isnt huge, so this trade will yield me ~150k, which probably only just makes it worthwhile. If I wait a week and Martin goes bananas (as debutants tend to do) and scores 60, my trade suddenly yields less than 100k and it becomes almost pointless from a revenue point of view. I need that cash yo.

Martin killed it in the WC, one of those players I remember promising myself at the time I will grab if he found his way into first grade. Now starting on an edge, for mine his only issue is job security but I doubt Pay gives him this chance just for one week, I think the experiment will go for 3-4 weeks at least- probably enough to earn 150k even if he did get axed again. Cant see him messing this up though, he is such a weapon.

I had been crying out for a basement priced tradeout and when nobody appear on TLT I was filthy. I would be silly not to grab this chance with both hands.

    Morning Gents,
Recently discovered this fine establishment and it seems this is a much better source of information than just trusting NRL.com

    My Team

    Captain Cook
    Arrow  Terepo
    Murray McGuire Sorensen
    DCE JMK
    Mitchell Hiku
    Tedesco Ponga Thompson

    Bench
    Smith Rein Kikau GJennings
    Isaako NBrown Kennar LCroker

Injuries hit me hard last week, several guys had low points, and/or are now out for a while. Thought NBrown would be back this week to take the pressure off.

Looks like I'll need to use 2 trades. Pointers appreciated.
I think Kennar is a hold. Not rushing trading Croker, he's not costing me much.
Trade out McGuire, Brown and/or Hiku (losing money)?

Initially thought I'd do McGuire to Taupau for points, then Hiku to Cogger for some cash and more reliable points. But that leaves a lot of money (NBrown) doing nothing on my bench.
