@Iceman82 if it were me I'd be trading both McGuire and N Brown out.

And if you can afford it I would grab Fifita and Taupau. Both play 13, both looking really good fantasy wise and should make a big difference to you overall scores. You would effectivly be swapping G Jennings and Isaac's scores for 2 50+ guns...

Then next week I'd look at getting some cows. Martin could be a good option if its true he's getting an edge starting spot. But theres a number of others including, as you say, Cogger. From memory Isaako
's BE is quite low too, so you can wait a week on him and I think Hiku's is too? Hike is actually going fine though and with SJ and Harris back I think he's a very serviceable C for a bit yet, until you deal with the other issues anyway!

With Manly losing 4 in a row, this is about the time that Taupau has a brainsnap and gets himself suspended for the bye round, fucking over anyone that bought him after the tonne Laughing

Marsters scores this season if he never kicked at goal:
    39, 28, 20, 54, 28, 31, 27, 47 (average 34.2)

You can play the same game with Latrell for similar results, but Latrell probably has more security around his goal kicking, whereas Tigers losing another game or two and opting to bring Lolohea back could see Marsters lose his very easily. Currently priced at 38.2

I was thinking of bringing him in this week but this has me slightly rattled :/

...and whilst I am clogging up the feed anyway.

Anybody else considering JMK if you don't already have him?
Even 60 mins at dummy half should see him score 40+ (kid is a terrific tackler) which would put him amongst the higher ranked WFB for the season. If Mbye (my current 3rd WFB) loses goalkicking, he probably won't make the cut anymore and JMK could be a terrific replacement.

    Wait and see a week?

I can afford Latrell but my core principle is to never pay top bucks for a genuine center. As there's lack of DPP centers, I see more value in Marsters over Latrell

The main reason being im trading in Kennar whose value isnt huge, so this trade will yield me ~150k, which probably only just makes it worthwhile. If I wait a week and Martin goes bananas (as debutants tend to do) and scores 60, my trade suddenly yields less than 100k and it becomes almost pointless from a revenue point of view. I need that cash yo.

Martin killed it in the WC, one of those players I remember promising myself at the time I will grab if he found his way into first grade. Now starting on an edge, for mine his only issue is job security but I doubt Pay gives him this chance just for one week, I think the experiment will go for 3-4 weeks at least- probably enough to earn 150k even if he did get axed again. Cant see him messing this up though, he is such a weapon.

I had been crying out for a basement priced tradeout and when nobody appear on TLT I was filthy. I would be silly not to grab this chance with both hands.

yep im thinking of gosi to martin as well (just waiting for confirmation he will play). then have a look at sorenson and see what the plans are with him, and go him to cogger next week if he stays on the bench

its tough when you dont have as many spots to play with anymore!

    Haha, yeah maybe.

Also, I didn't read the thread around the Manly game, but did it come up that his performance (in league terms) wasn't actually that great. Fantasy wise he was superb but a lot of errors in his game, and a couple of those were just dumb. A lot of his fantasy points were from shitty crab runs too.

I own the guy, but your post reminded me of what I was thinking when I watched him last week.

Thats a nice choice to have. I'm playing both Lane and JMK in my 17 this week. Sua, Lane and JMK all to score 40. Cogger probably 4th choice with a 35.

Looks like solid advice. I haven't kept up to date with how Fifita is going after that injury scare a couple of weeks ago. Last week wasn't a brilliant score, not terrible, but I'd want him to be healthy and doing extra to carry the team with the injuries around him.

Pretty confident with Taupau, he came good for me last year in my rookie season of Fantasy... and then WT Winfield says this :

Thanks mate! LOL. You have successfully put doubt in my mind.

Seeing the chat about Martin ... interested in giving him a go. Get one gun forward this week, and get the most out of a new cow. Repeat next week with another gun and cow?

Don't know the long-term implications of missing points for one week but earning enough for another gun upgrade in a month?

Currently have Gosi and Katoa 3 and 4 with Murray and Maloney 5 and 6. After last week I think I'll look at Murray score. If duds it Maloney swaps with Katoa then I consider Gosi>Manly player possibly Lane

I went for Rapana over RTS this week personally.

RTS averaged over 50 at Roosters in 2015, but a 44 last season at Warriors with 1 injury affected 4. Priced at 557k now and would get up to 675k if getting back up to a 45 average.

I have Su'a and tossing up whether to play him over JMK this week, depending on if JMK's the 6 or the 9. I view both around the 35-40 mark, but willing to see if JMK can handle the defence at HK. Sua's PPM isn't spectacular and not sure if he would've played 80 last game without McGuire getting injured.

Lane I'd give the edge too mainly because you're after a non-player and he's the only one scheduled to play Rd 13. Gosie would be due back that week, great news if he's not, but could jag another 30 odd points from Lane that week even if Gosie's back and RTS and Su'a take the bye.

I'd estimate them all to go up roughly the same in price.. RTS averaging 45, Su'a 35-40, Lane 35-40.. Maybe Lane makes the least, but provides an additional 30-50 in Rd 13?

Thanks mate, appreciate the run down. Lane playing round is probably the kicker for me right now. Also looking at his past seasons, he has a relatively high PPM, 0.6-0.7. Last season he averaged 38 in 62 minutes, I can't see him getting less minutes than that. And if he plays well, Gosie is hardly a set in stone replacement once he returns.

Watson is a spanner in the works, Connor Cogger combo in the EMG would certainly be good to have for round 13, especially his DPP meaning when I dump Rein I don't need to get a back up hooker. Although I'm eyeing up Friend if he can sort himself out potentially..

Last two weeks (post injury scare) he has played 73 then 70 minutes. Last week I only watched the first 20 minutes of him play. I think he made 1 tackle in that time. It was weird. It was like he was avoiding contact cause he knew he was gonna be playing big minutes. Offloads last week were down too (perhaps due to the game situation), but overall a prop playing those minutes, and one playing round 13, with his average - I think he is a must have at the moment.

    Hi lads
Long time lurker, 1st time poster.
I've regularly looked on here for advice and am currently at my best rank ever.
11th and in need of a 2nd opinion.

    My team is:

    Cook(C)
    Arrow Kikau
    RFM JTbo Murray
    DCE Matterson
    GI Dugan
    Ponga Teddy Thompson

    CS9, Rein, JFH, Maloney
    Sorensen Nicholls  Hiku Kennar

    $181k itb. 23 trades.

I am thinking of doing a set and forget for centre as it is a problem for me like many others...

Therefore, glass Dugan to Aitken and Thompson to CWalker or hold for a week as I have cover for Dugan (although only 4-6 weeks but most likely 6!)and have can have another week to look at CWalker.

Thoughts on these trades or whether I should be considering others?

      Current date/time is Fri Nov 22, 2024 12:13 pm
