- I cannot believe they still never found that tacklebreak for Adam Reynolds. They gave it and took it away during play, but there was no possible way it was up for conjecture. It may seem like such a trivial matter, but the underlying point is quite apt- I just do not trust the scores in this game anymore. Not in the least. The whole basis of a fantasy game is that a players' performance in reality is reflected by a numerical indication of their performance, and if the number is consistently wrong then the whole thing just falls apart. If they are going to continually miss obvious black and white areas then the whole exercise becomes meaningless and we may as well have Ruan Sims pick their fantasy scores for us. The argument against this is that just like referees in the games, the scorers / stats providers will get some wrong now and then. But at least the refs are held accountable when they have howlers, whereas the scorers / stats providers just continually disappoint with their inadequacy without reprimand.
I hate being the conspiracy theorist (all lies, I love it), but it really makes me put on my tin foil hat and think that the stats providers genuinely don't give a fuck how accurate they are, as long as they are in the ballpark. And that actually makes the most sense. We sometimes like to think that there is a board of people somewhere sitting around deliberating about whether a play constituted a try save or not, but in reality it is just some dude named Dave (/Sanjay) who wants to write down something, anything, so that he can collect his 20 bucks and go home to his wife (or husband- don't you judge Dave!). And who can really blame Dave at the end of the day- I shirk plenty in my own job the same way, so who am I to hold him accountable? At the end of the day, don't we all just really just want to get the job completed, however imperfectly, so that we can go home and fuck a Dave?
(Oh did I not mention that Dave's husband's name is also Dave? Well it is. It's 2018 and you have to deal with it!)

Dave the STATS scorer and David the Champion Data scorer obviously just wanted to go home and sleep, because neither of them thought Adam Reynolds broke a tackle. Davy the Fox Sports scorer was on the ball though, he gave Reynolds his TB

Got a mate that works at fox doing stats for some other sports and he gave me a bit of an insight into how the NRL stats work. With the fox exclusive games they have their own bunker with multiple camera angles for stats recording. For these particular games the senior staff members do stats with one caller and one data taker. At the end of the game they have two of the fresh bloods go over again in slow mo and multiple camera angles. With the games that are shared with channel 9 the process is slightly different. This bunker can't be used (didn't understand why possibly to do with extra crews and 9 having their own team in this bunker) so are only able to use the cameras available for tv viewing. Same deal with two seniors doing the initial call and being checked by two new guys afterwards.

You are being facetious but I sincerely think you are 100% correct.
All this tells me is that Davy at Fox Sports is the only one of the three who is taking his job seriously because there is no way you could watch that moment in the game and think that no tacklebreak took place. It is a joke to think it's even up to interpretation.
Let's extrapolate this data of yours to a more broad statement about working life in Australia:
two out of three people could not give a flying fuck about their job.
