Only thing stopping me from going Cook - Taupau is my own advice on Taupau dropping his minutes in a full Manly pack and reverting to an avg much lower than he is priced.

I rarely take my own advice....

    Thoughts on this mate

    Capewell - Friend
    Cook - Taupau

Leaves me with this for R13.
    13 trades and $580,000 bank

    Friend
    Fifita, Taupau
    TLolo c, Murray, Barnett  Embarassed
    ARey, TMM
    Dugan
    Ponga, Fonua

    Cogger

    Kikau
    Smith
    Arrow
    RFM
    Mbye
    Martin
    JFH
    Isaako
    Tedesco

Do you think I should potentially go RFM (huge BE, few headknocks and injuries to Matterson/DCE/Koro/Surgess)
maybe MCK to lock up CTRs with Dugan but Fonua has a chance of doing it if he continues his form and would save a trade?

If Cook goes he comes back so need to make sure I got the cash or cashouts to do that later, next week Barnett - THarris who was nice enough to lower his price to match Barnetts drop  Laugh 3 and Murray for either cash or gun half, potentially SJ if back

I think I am only making one trade this round:

    JFH ---> Taupau

    gives me

    Taupau, Fifita
    Murray, Taumalolo, Gosieski
    DCE, Cogger (Matterson)
    Ponga, Thompson

with $108k still in the bank.

Could do other trades with Kennar, RFM, Kikau but I'm not sure I see any valuable guns to bring in.

Anyone thinking a Matthew Wright trade out option is OK? Just looking for basement price player who plays this round, so next week I have enough money for a Murray>Smith trade and a C.Thompson>T.Turbo

I am really pushing it as I can't have Thompson and Murray loosing anymore than 20K combined this week!!!

Am I dreaming after Murray's score last week and his now high BE

I think you need to bring in the Captain options this week (Tlolo, Kapow, Fifi and Ponga). All could go big - will lose ground not having them, especially against those who captain the one who goes big. TLolo or Kapow for me.

In regards to TMM, do you have Fonua? He comes in for me. Then probably MCK ahead of TMM... Think they both have more of a chance of averaging 40 than TMM.

Have you looked at Ma'u, Guerra or Fitzy Flith? I like Guerra as a punt for the price he is. RFM to him could work well

Nah my gut is just saying stay away from them and save the trades (only have 13 left now!)
Will stick with that for now.

Always happy to bounce ideas around with you mate.

I like Friend. I think he has plenty of upside right now. I also think he'll have a bit of a point to prove after being overlooked for SOO. If he gets anymore than 60 mins he makes bank IMO. I have looked at him and he is a risk but a worthwhile one IMO.

Second trade is intriguing. I read SI's post but not in depth... Break the reasoning down for me. Cook has a massive motor, is a set and forget captaincy option and will probably go close to being the season highest scorer. It's also gonna cost you two trades... That being said, any team that has Fifita, Lolo and Taupau will survive this week better than most I think. I would ALMOST rate Taupau as a must have this week, just not sure if at the expense of Cook makes it a definite.

I'll leave the team to last and focus on your other thought first... I am off RFM. Just traded him. He's now Lolo for me. Do him to Tapupau and keep Cook. That's a definite yes for my liking. I'm also trading JFH to either Marsters or MCK. Sideways, yes. Both luxury. Yes. But I now have set and forget CTR's, set and forget WFB's, set and forget front rowers and a solid assed bench. Add the Turbos and SJ if he is ever fit and I'm done. I'm ok with it. In your case, I like the idea of MCK coming into the side but think Fonua could possibly score in the same vicinty which would save you a trade. If you didn't want to do Aitken or Marsters I think I'd stick with Fonua.

Cheers mate I'm pretty much off DCe now with Hodgko there

Matterson as a benchie top 17 with half DPP is I think a better option but I'm sold on neither

Wade Graham not guilty. Bad for Capewell owners. Graham can get in my team, stepping stone at worst.

Capewell - Friend is locked in. Well at least Friend coming in, Capewell if somehow elevated to a start I may hang onto for this round and get Friend in via someone else! Even if Jake hangs around as 18th man netting me a 40 incase of injury late in season I'm okay with, at best he plays 80 again and goes above 50 avg.

I'd have enough trades to get Cook back in along with all my other Top 17 need

I believe the reasoning is Cook misses R13, R17 and likely R18 reduction due to backing up and probably playing 80 in origin 3.
    Guess its

    Taupau 56.1 playing 5 games between now and R18 - 280.5 points
    Cook 63.6 playing 4 games between now and R18 - 254.4  points
Cook 63.6 playing 3 games between now and R18 and backing up in lesser capacity say for 40 points - 230.4  points

you might be right on just going RFM - Taupau but I did want to keep RFM for R17 which is why I guess going Cook - Taupau and getting Cook back later made some sense

I lik you JFH trade pal, Marsters the far safer option but what about Ramien?
