Honey Badger wrote:Im not trading Cook out for round 13. If he does backup it seems like a waste of trade to me. If he doesnt backup then def consider trading him to mcinnes who is a rd 17 gun. Would rather trade Cook for a rd 17 player as i have most of the gun rd 13 fwds already.
I think if you are trading Cook you would do it for the full effect-which is out before Round 13.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 48
Which set of trades would you guys go?
Set A:
P. Vaughan out, M. Taupau in
J. Fisher-Harris out, J. Taumalolo in
M. Mbye out, R. Matterson in
K. Capewell out, A. Doueihi in
Set B:
P. Vaughan out, S. Burgess in
J. Fisher-Harris out, J. Taumalolo in
M. Mbye out, E. Marsters in
K. Capewell out, P. Gallen in
I like set B, Gives me set and forget centres with Aitken and Marsters and strengthens my bench. I would like matterson and Taupau tho. Not sure about Doueihi..
Can do both with some shifting around

Agreed, either take the punt now or pointless even if he does back upSI wrote:

I was just watching my 3 Tigers backs last week so didn't take any notice of MCK to comment on how he went. Rochow would surely come back though you would have to think, but who knows. Solild team for this round mate. Friend sparked my interest but not so sure.
I like Marsters as I have him, but apart from the first week I got him, the last 3 he was been exceptional and very involved. If you take him, just be wary like myself, you'll have 3 Tigers backs, but I don't think that is such a bad thing actually. Ramien has been solid but won't play the Knights every week, but will be a good POD. Gutho could be a good shout this week too with Norman not around. Might have a lot more involvement.
I'm actually warming to the thought of trading Cook. Crazy I know, much like the Smith debate this time last year, but I really don't see him playing round 14.
Thompson will be gone following this week and I'll never actually be playing Fonua, he's in my side as a cow.
If I bring in Ramien I'll also have both he and Duges so another two backs from one side. I'm ok with it I guess.
Yeah, I see the merit in the Cook idea but I'll steer well clear of it personally.

Rochow is mud. MCK is ahead of him on merit. Looking at Tigers forums, a lot of them would start Aloiai at 2RF with MCK on bench, but absolutely none of them are picking Rochow, and neither is Cleary.

Why? If you wait one week and he does get rested then you missed his score for a week. Or that of whoever you traded him for. And that's if you play him. Then you offload him. Otherwise he plays and you get his score and don't have to worry about trading him back in? I mean biting the bullet isn't a bad idea but I don't see why waiting a week to see is?
Maybe something I'm missing?

This is the other thing that gets me with the Cook trade idea? Do I then trade GI, Latrell, Teddy, TTurbo, JTurbo (if you have em) etc etc?

Id Trade Cook but im hopeless at saving money so the only way i could afford to get him back is if he backs up twice but only plays 30min and gets 20-30 points max

If you dump him now and he rests for R14 you get someone in for 3 extra scores where Cook gets nothingMearcats wrote:

If you wait a week and he backs up only missing 1 and pretty much pointless doing it
To make the most of out the Cook trade out I think you need to let him go now or just keep him

Cook playing Friday and probably 80 in the toughest arena in sports in proabably most demanding position, coupled with less recovery time mateMearcats wrote:

Yeah true mate, i guess with Cook its the massive cash boost u get when letting him go. I dont think ill dump Latrell, was just thinking he has this week off plus his bye etc.. havent traded once in the centres all year. Was a preseason promise. Although also thinking i could go Fusitua to Ramien this week, set and forget.

If you're planning on trading him to a Rnd 17 player like McInnis then waiting a week doesn't matter. If you're trading him to a Taupau or Matterson it does.
That said, I wouldn't be trading Cook unless I had 20+ trades left. What with injuries and suspensions and forced trades you want to be absolutely sure you can get him back.

Like Rapa, you are hoping for a purple patch because fantasy form has been way down and non injury affectedStormTrooper96 wrote:Nofo is cheap as chips. Steer clear?

I think because we are only thinking about trading him out because he potentially misses 3 games in the next 6. That is a shitload of points you could be getting elsewhere with his cash.
