Wish Crichton wasn't doing Origin because I'd have zero bothers about going Cook - Crichton this round

With you on this, needs to be missing R14 and I reckon its more dependant on whether they beat the Sharkies this weekend

Who are you trading him out for?

This is the other thing that gets me with the Cook trade idea? Do I then trade GI, Latrell, Teddy, TTurbo, JTurbo (if you have em) etc etc?

Cook plays away 48 hours after defending in the middle for 80 in the toughest game in the world. He also offers many hundreds of thousands more than GI in the transaction. The other guys get an extra day to recover and aren't travelling interstate, less chance they don't back up.

I can upgrade 3 mid rangers to 2 guns and a borderline gun with that cash. That makes the risk a lot more attractive as I could barely upgrade one middle ranger with the money an Inglis would nett me.

I think my trades this week will be

    RFM and Haas out

    Doueihi and Gurgess in

Doueihi's already given me some cash once this year and is a handy handcuff for ARey. He might get a run at fb if GI rests up in centres and AJ returns to wing initially to care for the hammys.

Gurgess BE 2 this week. Basically a free hit over a bye week. Anything extra will be bonus.

That said, I wouldn't be trading Cook unless I had 20+ trades left. What with injuries and suspensions and forced trades you want to be absolutely sure you can get him back.

I agree. And what do people do with Cleary? Friday night as well, early game. Maybe, if I had a heap of trades then I probably would trade Cook but I'd really wanna be certain that I can get possibly the best player in the game this season back and I don't have the trades and or confidence that I'd have the moolah to do so.

It'll be a hold for me.

For those trading out guns like Cook, I guess you have to weigh up if your trades really worth it (2x35 scores, Cook comes back and scores an 80?). If they are worth it, but you want Cook or [insert other gun] back in ASAP, how are you going to do it? If you’re upgrading but you’ll have to play an absolute plodder over the coming weeks, is it worth it?

Who are you trading him out for?

    At this stage:

    Cook to Alvaro
    Maloney to DCE
    JFH to Surgess
    Hiku to Fonua

I end up with 350k for laters as well. Or I can bring in Taupau and have not much cash.

    Set A:

    P. Vaughan out, M. Taupau in
    J. Fisher-Harris out, J. Taumalolo in
    M. Mbye out, R. Matterson in
    K. Capewell out, A. Doueihi in

    Set B:

    P. Vaughan out, S. Burgess in
    J. Fisher-Harris out, J. Taumalolo in
    M. Mbye out, E. Marsters in
    K. Capewell out, P. Gallen in

I like set B, Gives me set and forget centres with Aitken and Marsters and strengthens my bench. I would like matterson and Taupau tho. Not sure about Doueihi..

Can do both with some shifting around

If Cook goes for me will probably be for Surgess or Kapow

If Cook doesn't back up potentially an extra 73-97 points on current averages (Surgess avg adjust for non injury affected games)

Not a bad idea. I kept Doohickey as a handcuff for AReyn.

A for me. Taupau and Matterson more reliable than Surgess and especially Gallen. Fix up centre later.

Looking at that bench you'd expect Farah to get bulk minutes

1 keeper for 3 with Fonua being a potential keeper in the CTR spot, works well in your scenario mate, very well actually

Alvaro same as Surgess so can expect 70 points more if Cook doesn't back up

I would say less than 1% of Cleary's ownership is still playing the game. He generates 170k less in the transaction as well which makes it less attractive. I would say around the same chance of backing up though (less than most guys).

I have Cam to Captain in Cook's absence so that makes it a little less risky for me.
