Why Fainu this week? Hodko and Wright on bench doesn't auger well for him getting 80 mins

I don't expect him to get 80, but he seems to be a "gun in the making" from what I've read

With Mann’s low BE, his two game average as an 80 minute wing is 37, could possibly nab a try against eels this week plus possible half next week so could be in for a couple decent scores then a couple price rises afterwards still has money to make. All he needs to avg is 30-33 to be better value than holland averaging 35. Mann is best of the Scott, Holland, Mann bunch. Scott can score big but not showing it this year, Holland may not have kicking and shit attack with the dogs, Mann looks pretty good to me!

If I was bringing in a as price player, I'd be picking Lewis over Fainu.
Neither is likely to be in your first choice 17, except in R17 when Lewis plays and Fainu doesn't.
Fainu may end up making more cash, but its no guarantee, and its no guarantee you'll have the time and trades to capitalise.
BTW, have we heard anything concrete on Fainu playing? I assume with Hastings gone that Manly have moved Fainu into their top 30, but have not seen anything official

I keep coming back to him. I rate him but why is Nightingale getting benched and is it likely to stay that way?

Still haven't moved off my trades of Soro and fonua out for Lewis and farah. Captain will be between Smith and Cook like most weeks. Leaning more towards Smith at this stage.

I might concentrate on getting SJ and maybe McInnes for next week and get Farah maybe for Griffin in round 18. I was set on Farah but I need rd 17 numbers.

Olive to Lewis frees up 100k(seeing as though I have no bank that’s valuable) plus I don’t lose a round 17 player I guess. Hope for the best! Usually I would hold but I don’t think Olive gets back in the team now anyway

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 56
Not know how either of them play my only thing with Fainu (if he plays) is that he is extremely highly rated and if he gets the time I see as being someone who could avg 35-40 points. Also when Manly are on they are ON so there are greater attacking stat potential there whereas Lewis is coming into a struggling doggies side, at 5/8, and doesn’t seem to be much of a kicker. If Fainu were to become an 80 minute hooker he could be worth 45 points and a bench spot/18th man also for someone like me with 11 trades if he makes enough money could be a good cash out in 3-4 weeks if one of my guns starts struggling.Milchcow wrote:

Would like an opinion on this: After next week I’ll be trading Sua to a cashout most likely meaning I can trade TPJ to anyone. Who would you pick? SJ and Taupau are the main players my team is missing

I have 2 theories
(a) They're showing him respect instead of saying he's dropped. Nightingale is a Dragons legend. or
(b) They're giving Mann gametime to build up match fitness to be able to handle playing in the halves in round 17. Then Nightiingale will go back to starting on the wing after the origin period.

There are doubts over the availability of Kaufusi, Munster & JAC who all have ankle concerns.

The second one seems a little far fetched IMO but I guess could be plausable. Its a strange situation.

Which set of trade-in targets do you like - Fonua & RFM out &
(a) Holland & McInnes in with 14k bank or
(b) Mann & Cotric in with 184k bank
Option (a) gets me a gun in McInnes & a 55-60 point scorer but I have to play Holland as my second ctr whereas (b) solidifies & gives me solid backup options for my backline for each position but at the sacrifice of 10-15 points when you compare the scoring of Cotric v McInnes.
In (a) I would play both McInnes & Holland
In (b) I would play Cotric & Mann in emg's
Thoughts & thanks.

Have gone back to these trades
Fitz > SJ
Fonua > Holland
Will keep Cleary as 18th man for now and hope he gets some kicking back at some stage

I would probably go a. Depends on your team makeup too though.
