Given only 50% (ish) actually voted in US does anyone reckon the result would have been different if voting was compulsory?

I mean it was kind of like voting between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.

    Im team turd Sandwich!

Yeah I have to say the tribalism infecting politics the world over is pretty bad.

I do like the idea that you should be questioning your government and holding them accountable no matter who is in charge.

Thank goodness no one can vote me out of being coach of my fantasy team because I would be goooooooooooooone.

While we wait for TLT it is interesting isn't it.

I believe only ~25% of eligible voters went for the giant douche.

Turd sandwich got 1 percentage point more at ~26%.

So despite giant douche now being the big man, he really only stands for 1 in every 4 Americans.

You also need to think about the invisible electoral lines. More people voted Democrat than Republican in the last election, but because different geographical areas hold different weight, the majority does not always get the victory. Trump was elected President with less votes than Hillary Clinton. It is the same in Australia as well of course.

Can this thread survive 4 hours of politics until team lists come out and we can get back to discussing whats really important in the world?

Martin looks like a keeper now. With any luck he'll be kicking goals. Tolman could be a 19th man option for some at this price if he is named to start.

Woods the Bulldog, contender for worst signing ever. On both sides of the table. Think he'll be decent value for the sharks though, if he's on $500kish.

If Martin does go to 80 minutes in the back row, there's my 18th man sorted. Now, do I go Gallen, or Farah.. Also was after Hunt at his price, but don't think I'll be able to fit him. Bring on TLT!!

Yeah, there is certainly no way Martin doesn't get back in with a big role.

Martin is a must have for the next two weeks assuming Pay pulls his head out of his arse and plays him. I mean doesn't he know he has a negative BE and us fantasy players are cash strapped. F the bulldogs, who cares if they don't win, they are royally screwed for the next three years anyway.

Going from negotiating as incumbant test and SOO prop to neither in less than 12 months must hurt. It's reported he took a pay cut, you would expect clauses be built in to make back the difference if he can get his spot back.

Not sure why you would pick up Tolman this week bro.

Since he's been back he's played 2 games for a 30 point ave off of 46.5 minutes.

Guys, I said CONTENDER for worst buy ever, of course Foran is No 1 Basketball

I would wait a week on Tolman LB - Lost $35k last week so his BE will be high. If he cracks out a 40 and drops to $450k, wouldn't be a bad option to bring in for round 17 IMO..

Karl Filiga will always take the cake for most overpaid player.

"It is estimated that Filiga's 11-minute NRL career cost the Sharks A$20,000 per minute"

That's bloody generous of him if true. No way in hell I'd be taking a pay cut for a club I owe nothing.

He'd be playing the long game for sure. Probably doesn't see his game going anywhere with doggies

lol the Bulldogs. They get rid of players to fit Foran & Woods in & now they are both gone for the rest of the season. I never understood the Foran buy because he is past his best. Didn't the Bulldogs do due diligence on him or even watch how he played for the Warriors & realise he is not only a poor player who was past his prime but an extremely injury prone player. As for Woods who goes to a club for the half season then piss off the first chance you get. This really says a lot about the moral fabric of his soul so I'm glad his career is in free fall.
