I agree with your earlier comment as well. There's no way the nrl wants the Warriors to win the premiership. It's ironic because they have never had to do the dirty tricks on them because they aren't capable of winning it but it doesn't stop them trying.

Its just a perceived bias, but look how Cam Smith tackled Maumalolo and then picked up the played ball right in front of the referee and the ref blows it up as a penalty against the Warriors.
    Couldnt work that one out.

Smith gets away with murder no matter which game he's reffing.

That's just 1 of many instances over the years. Kearney said in the press conference that the nrl emailed all clubs earlier in the week that they would penalise defenders that were slow to peel away from the tackle & the Storm were guilty of this all throughout the game & not 1 penalty. Then that Smith incident where he made a high tackle & once Maumalo was on the ground Smith came in with another high shot & no penalty. As people have posted the Warriors are an average team & I can't see them winning it but it doesn't stop bias towards the Warriors.

Yet Knights vs Eels was primetime last Friday.  I get what you mean but the NRL should be trying to sell their brand, and this isn't doing it.

That's because the first 20 rounds are locked in at hte beginning of the season, isn't it?

Everyone expected Eels to be top 4.. and Knights to be "pushing for a top 8" spot. Ponga out injured didn't help either.

In pre season planning, Eels vs Knights in prime time at this time of year would of made sense.

Or should we just go back to Broncos every friday night? That would keep everyone happy, wouldn't it? haha

I simply don't believe this. The NRL is in the business of making money. I don't see why the Warriors winning the comp would impact that. Infact it would probably help

I'm "demoting" Cam Smith for his poor referee performance against the Warriors.
He's still in my team, I'm just putting him in one of the lower profile positions on the bench.

I dunno, you're probably right. I thought only half the seasons draw was scheduled at the start or whatever but I agree with what you are saying with the teams. Im sure the Broncos would be happy with just Friday night games.  Look what happens when they play Sunday arvo.  Laughing

I don't think the NRL are actively doing it but there could be an unconscious bias in some referees and administrators.

Though in saying that if you wanted to make more money, you'd want a club to win whose membership/attendances you want to grow as more supporters will start showing up if their team is going well.

I'd suggest any of the Sydney based teams for that. Maybe Roosters and maybe Bulldogs? Can't help the dogs much at the moment though!

They have done their best to get the Cowboys and Sharks their first and Souths there's after 40 years. Other than Norths & Newtown the Warriors would have to be the next ones to get the Willy Wonka golden ticket.

Yeah, I demoted Smith to the bench... captain Cook this week
I've had a great run of captain picks the last 5 rounds
    round 19: CS9 67
    round 18: Cook 79
    round 17: CS9 72
    round 16: CS9 81

Whole season done in advance now.

But it doesn't really matter if they schedule it 6 months or 6 days in advance - Canberra/Titans/Warriors will hardly ever get shown because they don't rate in the big markets, and Broncos/Parra/Dragons/Souths will always get shown even if they suck (and as mentioned, most people thought Parra would do well this year anyway)

NBrown might be a good captain pick with Arthur giving him 80 mins
