In your case I'd probably still go Cook.... That's who'll I'll be going too.

If I were in second place or chasing you I think I would wait till the last round before trying to go POD captain chasing points. Cook seems safe this round and up against the Raiders you'd think he has a decent chance of a bounce back game.

In summary, it would still seem risky not to go Cook despite his last couple scores. He's the only guy who has consistently pumped out 70 and above this season (8 out of 20 games). If he does that and you dont have him, a number of other guys will.

Thats how I'd play it this week anyway.

One of my leagues Im 100 ahead.  Would you still imply this strategy in that case?

Yup, at the time of the season the further u r ahead the more conservative u should be. Cook has demonstrated he is clearly the best captain choice this season, don’t see any reason that is different now.

I am versing Meercats in the Prelims this week and i feel as though he may possibly be the favourite slightly so i feel i need a POD captain to beat him and make it to the Big Dance

I'm expecting both Tolo and Cook to have a big game. Putting the C on Tolo though.

Speaking of Verbal, who's he captaining? Need to pick someone different as he loves to kill a captain.

Actually jurbo couldn’t break 80 with two tries. Might steer clear. Seems tolo or cook are the options. Knowing the raiders they will implode massively after their win against roosters. Classic raiders, give their suppportera hope, then crush them with a bullshit performance

Put the vc on Turnbull, and if he doesn't perform, then loop in Dutton and hope for the best

Manly vs Titans had 13 tires in it. Not a great game for forwards workload. Tigers game won't be so high scoring, I don't think JTurbo is a terrible choice

Quite a few guys which are not cows as such, but that should be undervalued based on this year too. TPJ stands out to me as a guy that if injury free should be way undervalued. Cleary had a string of crappy games this year + an injury which should make him a bit undervalued. I reckon Kikau could develop into a gun next year. Others on my radar will be RTS, Croft, Tevaga, L Leilua, Val Holmes, Lodge, Radley, and Brimson? All could have a decent amount of value...

Should really start making a list huh!

Thoughts on selling Ese'ese for either Holmes or Shaun Lane?

Holmes is a bona fide gun and kicks goals, but Lane is a massive POD (0.5% owned) and scoring similarly. Trying to make up ground so considering a POD captain

    Haha, true.

    I'm probably going Tolo. Maybe....

I'd likely go very left field though. RTS or McInnes?

    I've made a list:
    J. Hughes, Radley, Garner, Fotuaika, Kikau, TPJ, I. Papalii, Luai, Fainu, Sorenson, Staggs, D. Fifita, Payne Haas, Niukore, Stimson, Brimson, Tevaga (although he'll be not cheap), Lane, L. Leilua, K. Mann

Some of these players will be my mid range options

Next year picking a gun in every position is my strategy & for the forwards not picking the big guys early on because it takes them longer to get match fit but picking big mobile guys is ok. This seemed to work for me this year. The props like Fifita can wait for a month or so & you can pick mobile guys like Kikau & TPJ in the frf. So the strategy for the frf is pick 80 minute 2fr's who are dpp's.
