Apparently the deal was that he must play a certain amount of first grade games probably coming off the bench but now it seems like he will get a lot of games/minutes. I can't see any quality hlf wanting to come to the Warriors unless they were paid a premium.
RTS might be a good option at wfb with SJ gone. Whenever SJ was injured RTS always got much more involved in games & got a lot of ball on attack. I've never done a comparison of RTS with SJ v RTS without SJ but I think just from watching games that RTS stats improve without SJ.

Nah man, its the other way around.

Would love to see some stats on this if you've got them then?
More LBs? More metres? What's the difference and by how much?

Sorry mate, I just looked at his average from when SJ wasn't there and compared to his overall average. Actually used VSDT scoring where there was quite a big difference. But I also remember running the numbers last year when I brought RTS into my squad.

No doubt someone else will have the time to dig all that out though.

For what its worth, educated consensus opinion over here (from listening to the radio) seems to be that this is a good decision for both SJ and the Warriors.

Also, looks like SJ will sign on with the Sharks. You'd think he might actually go very well there!!

Everyone loves me talking about price change formulas.

Someone earlier posted Wacko whinging about fanhub fucking up A-league fantasy.

What it looks like has happened, is that they have stuffed up the scores used to calculate rolling average for games that haven't been played.

In NRL, for a players first game, they just assume all previous scores are their price divided by magic number. But for some reason they haven't done that in A-League fantasy this year.

For players who have 5 actual scores in the system, I can predict their price change within $1-2k.
For players who have played 1 or 2 games my predictions are all over the shop.

Eg Diego Castro scored 0 in his first game this year. He was priced at $290k - an average of around 5.2
So his last 5 scores for pricing purposes should be 5.2, 5.2, 5.2, 5.2, 0 and he should drop about $10k in price.
But he has gone up $20k instead.

Most obvious explanation is that instead of previous scores of 5.2 they are using a higher number for some reason

There is no Assistant Coach or equivalent in the A-league fantasy game, so I can't check what Fanhub think the break evens should be, so its really just a bit of guess work.
I doubt they'll have such funny business in the NRL comp next year, but you never know.

All money is pointing to him being a Shark for a year then off to the Roosters to replace Cronk.
1 year is a long time in the NRL though, anything could happen.

My question is - anyone going to go anywhere near him in fantasy this year? His halves partner obvs will make a big difference to his score.

If SJ goes to the Sharks it will kill my Flanagan differential pick.

Sharks losing sponsors will surely stifle (good word) any chance of SJ going. I say this as a hopeful raiders fan, knowing the raiders aren’t anyone’s first pick.

I'm so glad Horn smashed Mundine. All of Mundine's trash talk & arrogance & he gets embarrassed by getting knocked out in the first round sending Mundine into retirement.

When I was reading headlines like "the nrl won't be bailing out the Sharks if they sink" I thought SJ wouldn't sign & risk not getting paid. He better make sure he gets paid up front.

So Sharks sign SJ, wonder how pissed off that makes Kyle Flanagan. Although his old man reckons he will still be used, https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/12/01/shaun-johnson-signing-sends-matt-moylan-to-fullback-sets-up-halves-battle-for-chad-townsend-kyle-flanagan/

Can't see how it will work but him likely being a cash cow in 2019 has diminished.

I was reading on the Sharks forum & it's possible they go with Flanagan over Townsend to start. They even have quotes from coach Flanagan that either SJ or Kyle Flanagan will be gk which infers that Kyle may still be in the frame. There's also a rumour that they are going after Taupau. What a pack they'll have if this happens & especially a frf rotation of Fifita, Taupau, Woods & Prior.

Broncos sack Bennett effective immediately. The swap deal with Seibold which was originally going to be in 2020 will now be likely to happen in the coming days.
