Not too dissimilar to my team. I like every pick but Botha, but that's just because he burned me really bad last year making "captain choices" to just be a passenger in games and not bowl at all. He might be okay now that he has changed teams.  Just need to make sure you have enough cash to turn someone into Short in round 3, I am nervous enough running without him for his single games round let alone missing out on his DG. Finding who is in form is easy enough, you can either livestream the JLT shield from cricket.com website, or if you are time poor just read the scorecards when the match is over Basketball
    Thanks for the feedback Pookus.
Looking at the Hurricanes team, I wouldn't expect Botha to bat higher than 7 or 8th which won't give him much time at the crease.
Also, they have 9 bowlers they can use. I expect Archer, Mills, Rose and Faulkner to get the bulk of the overs.

So; Botha out and Henriques in. He looks in pretty good form going by this weekends game !!

The problem we all have with Short is his ownership, now running towards 50%. He has some poor form at the moment but.... if he nails it round one and you do not have him your toast. He may very well lose $60 grand in the
opening two rounds but is a must have for round 3 so I think it is a case of having him in your team outweighs the disadvantages of not having him plus your heart rate.

Yeah I recognize how huge the risk is if he goes bananas and makes a hundred runs and takes two wickets- plus his price will be even higher when I try to buy him. If that first game against the Heat was at the Gabba where he loves to play it might have gotten me over the line, but the Heat have taken that game to Metricon stadium where Australia were humiliated by SA the other night. Maxwell's 38 runs was the highest and only two other batsmen made it into the 20's. The wicket looked far more spin friendly to my mind, which might be Short's only weakness. Gives me anxiety to leave him out, but my strategy revolves around exactly that 50% of people will own him, if he can just flop once or twice and *only* find 50-60 points, then it is a huge leg up on 50% of the comp who have paid massive overs. Most likely if he makes his 100 breakeven in round 1 I will panic and bring him in for round 2 instead of of DG player like Khan or Carey Razz

I put Henriques into my team after that first innings against the Bulls too. A lazy 152 will always go a long way to piquing my interest Laughing

Some bowlers I’m interested in. Worrell, Boland & Pope. I haven’t even logged into the site I don’t know what their prices are but after this round of the JLT I’m very impressed with Worrall

The only problem with Worrell ($72,000) and Boland ($102,000) is that they play for the Stars, who don't have a DG until round 10. They are in great form though, but putting in any similarly priced player from any other team gives them an extra game up on those two. I feel the same way about leaving out Renegades quick Tremain, whose double game in round 6 is still too far away for me to warrant not picking a Stanlake or Steketee instead. My strategy this year is all about maximizing DG players, everyone in my starting side has their double game within the first 4 rounds Razz . That said, one of the traps I fell into last year was using all 3 trades each week on DG players just for the sake of it and missing out on high calibre players who scored more with their single games than my DG players did with two games, so I need to watch that this year.

Pope ($62,500) is interesting, and may well make my side in place of Jack Edwards if (Jedwards? Laughing ) is batting further down the Sixers pecking order. I am more inclined to wait and see with him if I can, even despite his crazy 8/32 I am worried that is largely untested in T20 and I suspect he could be hit all over the park. Double game in round 3 is very appealing to a DG-whore like myself though ^_^

    How does scoring work?

Do the bench go towards your points as well or are they just emergency?

only emergency if 1 of your starting players doesn't play !

Keep an eye on the schedule. Rounds start and finish on different days, so you have to be ready to make changes fast !

Also, in almost every round 1 or more teams will play 2 games in a round ( load up on them to maximize your points ) and 1 or more teams will have a bye ( get them out of your starting squad ) !!

    good luck
