I dont have the 2017 data in front of me but I recall that Vaughans huge PPM was based on attacking stats, not on being a workhorse in defence.

I have him as a Half in Fantasy and as a Fullback in SC. He's my Croft from last season, hopefully get a much better result!

While we're on the Dragons, what's the chance of Leilua getting big minutes this year? I'm a bit out of the loop with player movements this year but know he was a beast with time on the field last season.

If Drinkwater starts at f/b round 1 he will get wfb & become dpp hlf/wfb. That seems to be the process the last couple of years re players named to start in a different position.

Vaughan's minutes didn't change, but there was an injury game which if you take out brings his avg from 43.6 to about 45.7. The other notable difference was 8 tries down to 2. I would suggest his avg is going to be somewhere in the middle ie ~50 making him a borderline gun at a discount. But no JDB would make that juicier.

Get ready for Taumalolo, and his increased offload

I’m a bit worried about Drinkwater though. I expect Bellamy to swap and change that role between he and Hughes, maybe even Munster or Papenhuyzen.

Leilua will be the big winner if anything does happen to JDB. Expect Frizell to be moved to the middle to cover and Leilua to take the edge as a result.

    2017 vs 2018

    Tries: 8 vs 2
TBs: 2.3 per game vs 2 per game
    Try assists: 1 vs 0
    LB: 9 vs 2
Offloads: 0.6 per game vs 0.78 per game
Run metres: 148 per game vs 126 per game
Tackles: 29.9 per game vs 26.6 per game

TL;DR tries and attacking stats were a contributing factor to score drop but decrease in base stats aswell

I'm all in to win. If he kills it from the start he keeps his spot. The good thing is that others will find it hard to get him in if they didnt have him round 1 as he isnt really cheap.

On JDB's legal problems. If he pleads not guilty he is presumed innocent so should be allowed to continue playing. Even if he pleads guilty (unlikely), based on Bolton's case it will be months before the court deals with it so he will continue playing.
But let's assume the Dragon's take the moral high ground & suspend JDB (highly unlikely) then imo the big winner will be L. Leilua who I think will start on the edge with Frizell at lock. Leilua has some impressive stats when he plays 80 mins so he'll be straight into my team.

Garth Brennan has said AJ Brimson will play in the halves, which to me doesnt make alot of sense.

I agree is he on the mary jane or something. Moving your best attacking weapon away from his best position & giving him less room to weave his magic. Plus I think he's had off season shoulder surgery so why would you expose him in the halves with big forwards running at him testing out his shoulder. If he's at f/b it limits the risk. I think Brennan should wipe his mouth because there's bs coming out.

And they signed both tyrone roberts and ryley jacks. Ash taylor has also said he wants roberts in the halves..

And nothing against michael gordon but he was going to retire before 2018 until the titans threw him a contract. Starting Gordon at fb over AJ Brimson in 2019 just seems counter productive.

What's with the love for McCullough? Are we expecting him to bounce back from an average 2018 fantasy performance?

Sounds like they want their best 13 on the park. Gordon at Fullback is much better than Roberts at half and Brimson can play both positions.

No but losing a body like JDB leaves huge holes in team dynamic, do you play your better players more or replace with direct replace role with lesser talent?
