Im surprised there’s not more talk of DCE in this forum or the nrl fantasy guru’s. He’s a dead set gun and with the arrival of Elgey it should mean he’ll also get the kicking duties back. He’s the best defending half in the league and a great heads up ball runner as well. I won’t be starting with him due to pricing however he’s a definite upgrade once the cash is built.

Who to choose and play with one of the cheaper acquisition.
DCE is to pricey for what I'm doing with my team.
Ponga a risk in new position.
Shaun J is interesting but he'd need to find his gleam.

MILF and Pearce should go okay but getting what you paid
I do think they will score a bit better than last year when they played
ARay and Koro have new coaches so are wait and see.
Cleary is not cheap but he may go to another level (maybe).
Guess it comes down to Cleary, Milf or Pearce
I wish I wrote just one more line so that I didn't throw off the iambic pentameter just when his poem was getting fierce

Talking of halves, no discussion of ARey? Under Bennett boot's gonna be going to ball a lot, plus any penalty within 50 metres? Also no Orogin and plays first bye, see him as value over the Pearce/Cleary tier.

Of course I know damned well that if I pick him he'll get injured and if I don't he won't.

I don't have DCE (starting with Cleary) but Elgey is my 2nd half. The Manly superstars made Lane twice the player he was so why not the same effect on Elgey. I expect Hasler to rely improve Elgey's defense which is his major downfall. Yes Elgey is known as the turnstyle in defense but he was playing for the Titans. Now he's at Manly & with a much better team/calibre of player he will find he isn't exposed defensively as much as he was at the Titans. The strong part of Elgey's game is attack & playing in a team like Manly will take the attacking side of his game to another level & Elgey can find the try line. He seems to be one of those players that finds himself in the right place at the right time on attack.

That all sounds fine except Manly are even worse than the Titans.

Barrett was a shite coach. Dessie will turn Manly around defensively. He doesn't need to do anything to the attack so I can see Dessie really flogging them in pre season to get them super fit so that they make better decisions on the field.

As was mentioned yesterday Cleary & Maloney have swapped sides. So Maloney/Yeo on right & Cleary/Kikau on left. So now the Panthers left side attack will be Kikau, Cleary, W. Blake, Mansour. That's pretty tasty for fantasy & imo all 4 of those players will score well.

Will they swap back on attack though?

Second riskiest pick to make in fantasy (behind Dugan).... he’s due for an injury statiscally.

Silly me, I kept thinking Mansauce was on the right, kept picturing him on the right of screen when he got his face smashed in by Don's knee, but it was the Titans right because they were in attack Bang

Agree but I'll have my eye on him for the first bye. Basically just him and Koro seem likely to be decent halves for the first bye. Won't be starting with them though.

Will Des really have a bench utility? He's always seemed to have favoured an 80 minute boring non-scooting tacklebot.
