So we've all replied to the over 700k question but I have another question at the other end of the price scale. How many 250k or less players do you have in your starting 17. I have 3 = Lomax, Keighran, D. Brown.

Looking like the same three, but ideally I'd like to only have to play one of those halves, because I doubt both are going to be solid scorers. Hard to balance the rest of the squad though, and I've got my heart set on fitting in Bateman at centre at the moment.

Last year most of the edges started well while the middles seemed to get shorter stints and rotate more often. We saw the likes of Fifita(49.5 average), Taupau(49.5 average), Taumalolo(47 average), NBrown (45.75 average) all start the year below par while the likes of Coen Hess(57.25 average), Tohu Harris(53.25), Crichton(53.75 average), RFM(48.5 average) all produced at a higher level for the first 4 weeks. Based on that is anyone leaning towards starting with more edge forward options?

I will give it some thought, but I don't want to design my squad with too many planned changes in the first month or 2.

If an edge forward is good enough for my squad, then I'll pick him.Would you start with an edge forward you don't consider a keeper, in the hope he'll start well and you can trade him to a keeper middle forward who has dropped some cash after 5 weeks. Its a bit of a risky move - have to hope your guys starts well, and the trade in drops enough cash to make it worth it.

If I get someone like Fifita (who would probably be the one I'd get out of those you mentioned), then I'd be willing to ride out a couple of price drops in order to save a trade and just get some big scores all year.

Yeah but that bj (the koni) was consentual & Packer wasn't on the Warriors books when he did that.

Sure ex Warriors players who move overseas probably get in trouble but not the current squad who reside in NZ. No assualts, domestic violence, rape. The only scandal I can remember was when a few of them mixed tramadol with red bull which is really very minor. I think it's because a lot of the Warriors players are Pacific Islanders & church plays a big role in their life so they have support systems that prevent them from playing up. Also a lot of them don't touch alcohol.

Or they are a protected species by the local media, similar to AFL players outside of VIC & NRL players outside of NSW

When other media are involved it seems there are more stories. The fact you mention that ex Warrior players who move overseas is telling in itself. Agree that many pacific islanders attend church. Being religious doesn't make you a good person.

Just down to differences in pricing/scoring, or have one of the groups got it wrong?

Just redid my teams in both SC and Fantasy. They have the same core of players in both.

The key difference between the 2 is that I have 7 guns in SC vs 3 in Fantasy. Was able to get guys like SJ, Ponga, Fifita, Taupau, RTS in SC, but not in fantasy. The only gun missing in SC that I have in Fantasy is Koroisau, and is only because I don't have the Hooker spot for him in SC and in Fantasy he is available at Half.

This is probably the key reason that Ponga is a must have in SC, you can get so many more guns than in Fantasy.

Yeah you can really stack your team in sc - I have Cook, A. Fifita, Jurbo, Arrow, Kikau, Cleary, Ponga & Tedesco. In fantasy I only have Arrow, Kikau, Cleary.

I’ve got 6, 25% cashies seems high I think, when I try build other teams though I just end up with too many mid rangers and no confidence in the team.

You have another 4 < $250k as NPRs? Who are they?

I have only ended up with 1 D. Brown, with Haas, Ravalawa, Lomax, Keighran as NPRs.

Tautau Moga received a good report from his specialist this week as he continues recovery from a 4th ACL reconstruction per @BarryToohey
Moga isn’t expected to play in trials or NRL Rd1, will be eased back & play mins in NSW Cup. Smart from Knights to plan a conservative return

With a bit of luck it'll be like round 6 when a cow is ready to be milked

Hopefully. This is where I struggle, finding adequate replacements for matured cash cows. However, coming back from a 4th knee reconstruction I doubt he will score well.

He only needs to average 28 and he almost makes 200k.

Does anyone see a massive problem with having no gun hooker e.g only Reed Mahoney and Egan.

Posted my first draft on the team thread but got no response:

R Mahoney (if four forwards on bench)
    LAM Twal
    Murray Papali'i Lane
    Cleary Morgan
    JBateman Capewell
    Watson DEdwards Lomax

    Egan Sorensen LLeilua Stimson

    Haas HHunt Keighran DBrown

Cleary to start then possibly Murray will be the obvious Captain picks. Other rookie players to consider will be R Garrick, Ravalawa, C Allan, A Hopoate, B Nikora, J Salmon.

Does Moga being confirmed out of NRL and Mata’utia to backrow, both make Hymel Hunt more interesting? Bit of Fantasy pedigree there and I really don’t want to end up with Jack bird in my 13
