Guys like Turner and McQueen have never really been the same though. I hope that doesn't happen to Gillett, but I do think he will ease into the season. If Dave Fifita is on the bench, his natural position is right edge (which is an interesting conundrum in the future for the Broncos in itself)

He's only played 4 career games at fullback. Averaged 50 but also made 33 tackle breaks over those 4 games. Is that sustainable scoring or just a couple of good games?

I'm expecting him to be a gun. He'll do well off the back of a strong pack. I think knowing he has some stability will benefit him too. He's looking jacked af, and I'm personally going to reward that jackness...

I'm also tossing up Mansour instead or alongside him. He'll be hungry.. And he's handsome... As in he waxes his hands

Rumour doing the rounds that Pearce will be sacked this week.
How will that effect Watson, will he go back to the halves?

A huge thank you to anyone who sent an email through to #FailHub on my behalf. I'm still waiting for a response but it looks like well over 100 people from different groups have sent emails. Fingers crossed they take a bit more notice than they did with The survey. My wife was thrilled to be helping me put a team together. Hoping for a lot of cheap players to be named so I can gun up from the start. Currently have six in my team. It is definitely not a balanced team but trying to balance things at the start of last season cost me a lot of points/trades. Am going to use a trade down strategy if a mid range player/players start performing well in the first few rounds.

In 2017 pretty similar story, 3 games at an average of 69.

In total only 1 try across those 7 games but it looks like Munster steps up in Slater's absence and takes on more of a running role. Definitely one to watch for me

Was he replacing him at Fullback though?

That’s why I don’t understand people not going macca plus smith/cook. Don’t trust a fifita early on in the heat or a Crichton who is still an edge forward who could be inconsistent in a new side. Jake has a new coach, always a concern.

Simple - I dont see value in them whereas I see a ton of value else-where. More than happy to sacrifice 5 or so points from my captain if it means I can grab an extra value guy. The kicker is that this year value seems to be in the mid-rangers. Even without Cook/Cam Im struggling to fit them all in under the cap. As soon as I grab Cook I/m left without 2 guys I feel are must haves and an extra dud on the bench. For me it comes down to where the value is, and this year I'm not sure there is going to be so much in the rookie/low price bracket. Need the cap space for the mid-ranger value.

That's my thoughts anyway - could turn out to be very wrong....

Anyone with a link to a pretty bye summary. I’m going to start building a “play first bye” core because I’m going around in circles with current iterations and not a team has been listed or trial played Laughing

Couple of reasons Cook slowed down at the back end. Firstly he was noticeably tired coming out of Origin. Cook is one of the fittest blokes in the comp but his first full season as a big minute hooker had to take it's toll. Secondly there was a change around how Souths played. Early in the season, rather than fighting for extra metres in the ruck Souths big boys(particularly Gurgess and Turgess) would almost surrender in the tackle, dropping to hands and knees on impact allowing quick play the balls. By around mid season the refs seemed to figure out this was basically a surrender tackle and allowed the defense to hang on a bit longer. Slower play the balls = less room to run against a set defense. From round 15 on wards Cook had a negligible down tick in TBs, run metres. Biggest impact appears to be in the line breaks with 7 in the first 12 rounds and 2 in the back half.

On to if Cook can back it up, this is highly dependent on how the game will be refereed. Will be very interesting watching early season to see if the big boys are allowed to drop to hands and knees for a quick play the ball or if advantage is being given to the defense.

Mate that's one hell of an analysis I could never do. Kudos to you.

Not sure of the source but some bloke is saying there is a video of Pearce doing a line off Napa’s old fella and it’s about to be released. Saying that Pearce and Napa will both be sacked this week.

Effs sake... Whoever is leaving this stuff is a right prick... He's dumb, but Pearce is a great player and has shown he has grown up.

Could probably sue NRL as they would need clear evidence it was party sugar.

    Hoping its not true though

Had a quick look on Twitter (created an account specifically) and several people mentioned it to him in comments. It'll be a shame, 1 cause I think he's a gc, 2 he was a viable option for fantasy this year
