They are remaining tight lipped but it is believed that he could spend some time behind the ruck as a ball playing lock to take the pressure off Munster and give BS9 some more time at hooker. BSmith might be a cheap bench option option this year if he can nab 30-40 minutes. They told Brandon they want him to play a lot more hooker this year.

Year upon year we think this, alas, this could be it.Bagpipe wrote:It could be the wind down of the GOAT as we know it

Recently read that someone asked Manly to confirm and were advised he was 18 ahead of round 1.
I'm likely choosing whoever we have at fb (unless it's Abbey as he doesn't have the size) as our game plan tends to revolve around the back 3 making a lot of meters early on and he looks like he might be able to do the same (not massive I know). Unless this changes with the smaller pack, which I doubt. I also liked all the clips where I saw him backing up, has been something we've always missed despite the team creating a lot of half opportunities.Milchy wrote:
Just had a look at CNK stats in ISP last year.
Averaged 32 as a winger in 16 games, but it was a real roller coaster. Highs of 56, 57, 62, 63 and 6 scores of 21 and under. Most of the big scores involved multiple tries in 1 game.
2 games at fullback for 43 and 31.
He is priced at 25, so I am not super confident in him being great value, but certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Supposedly there was some rumor doing the rounds that one of the development players was likely to be a surprise pick there to start the season (which I guess could happen if they upgrade the contract?) but I don't see it personally. My money, until rapa returns, is on
1 - CNK
2 - Cotric
5 - Oldfield

That is bad news for Croft if true.
Personally, I don't think they'll change too much. They've been the benchmark team for the past 3-4 years, why on Earth would you want to change that by taking your best player away from his best position.

Why is that bad news for Croft? Weren't his later games still with CS9?

Most here know more than me but with Smith staying on field and not playing hooker, he'll likely be pinching ball from Munster/Croft - limiting their attacking opportunities/points.
