Can only go off what the article says. Maybe they have already blown the Barba cap money. Sucks if it is true. I wonder if Barba keeps any of his contract money.

No idea why this year there were 134844753 games but then only 3 in the finals series?

Yeah they really need a McIntyre style system where 1 versus 2 and the loser gets a second chance (as well as scaling back the season to 10 rounds).
The "minor premiers" of BBL have been bundled out of the first round of the finals in 6 out of 8 years now.
In BBL03 the Stars were undefeated in the season and completely dominated the comp, but stumbled in the semis and that's all she wrote.
The best teams do not win. 1st place has won it only once. 2nd place twice.
Just getting a home final is not enough of an incentive in a sport as volatile as T20 cricket.

Because Milchy is a legend master fantasy gunslinger with a quick draw. He'll have the answer before you even finished the question.

Hint 1: My team planner lets you easily look at 2 people's stats at the same time (eg Sam and George Burgess)

Hint 2: I only had to go back as far as August last year for potential clashes to check.

Apparently a joint nrl & police investigation has been going on for months & up to 3 high profile clubs are being investigated re salary cap payment breaches.

Why is the Police involved? Can the clubs be criminally prosecuted for salary cap breaches?

It'll turn out to be nothing. There's absolutely no suggestion that anything untoward has occurred. I, for one, truly believe Cronk and Grand Angus took pay cuts because they like the jersey colour scheme.

Are we going to ignore the fact that the Roosters lost all these players:
    2019-
Kurt Baptiste (North Queensland Cowboys), Mitch Cornish (retired), Blake Ferguson (Parramatta Eels), Grant Garvey (released), Dean Matterson (released), Ryan Matterson (Wests Tigers), Paul Momirovski (Wests Tigers), Dylan Napa (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs), Frank-Paul Nu'uausala (retired), Sean O'Sullivan (Brisbane Broncos), Reuben Porter (Canberra Raiders), Chris Smith (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs), Eloni Vunakece (retired)
    2018-
Paul Carter (released), Kane Evans (Parramatta Eels), Michael Gordon (Gold Coast Titans), Aidan Guerra (Newcastle Knights), Shaun Kenny-Dowall (Newcastle Knights), Liam Knight (Canberra Raiders), Mitchell Pearce (Newcastle Knights), Connor Watson (Newcastle Knights)

Roosters have basically traded a tonne of depth to rely on a few big hitting players. A couple of injuries and this may look like a bad decision

Might be criminal depending on the amounts, could be fraud. Apparently the police were involved in the Eels salary cap investigation where Seward nearly went to jail.

With pure regret I think I'll have to release A. Fifita from my team. Early season with the heat & being a big mountain of a man I think Arrow will play more mins & outscore Fifita early on at 111k cheaper.

Who they have got rid of haven't amounted to much elsewhere yet. I say that is just a club that has there recruitment sorted. Cooper Cronk for Pearce. Buy Tedesco, get rid of Watson, Guerra etc. Buy Angus, Get rid of concussion prone Matterson.

Knights should go alright this year so Pearce, Guerra, Kenny-Dowall and Watson have potential to kick on and be successful. The rest are either at the beginning of their careers (can't keep them all), journeymen or just don't cut it anymore.

But Arrow can't be picked at FRF.

I am tempted by Fifita just because I don't trust a lot of the FRF mid rangers, so am thinking about gunning it up from the start.

Maybe trials/TLT will give me confidence to go cheaper there, but for now I don't like many options.

Not sure on Arrow re mins in Titans pack, and read the John Morris article on Fifita having a real leadership attitude to training this year and has dropped a few kgs and fitter than ever at this time of year. Hopefully translates to big minutes and high workrate and he said when Fifita is on the park and playing well the Sharks are at their best.

I've subsequently traded in Fifita and Chricton into my side at the expense of arrow, prop midranger and half midranger.

Sounds like Fifita is training the house down. Jump on lads!

My only concern with Fifita is Woods off the bench. Once Woods joined Fifita's scores stayed relatively similar but his minutes dropped. Whether this was an outlying driven by an increase in attacking stats or Fifita genuinely increasing his points efficiency remains to be seen. If there were more options in front row he would be a definite pass for me but he is certainly on the radar.

When was the last time that the Roosters overpaid for someone?

    Dear Roosters Fans,

I am very sorry for insinuating your team had breached the salary cap. The truth is they recruit very wisely and manage their recruiting process well. You could say they are 'Stegglers for Quality'.

As a Broncos fan, I am sure we are also squeaky clean.

    Yours Sincerely,

The odds are pretty good that with three in the same pack, there’s bound to be one error amongst them. That’s game’s a miracle. Rolling Laugh
