White Lightning wrote:Burr hasn't played first grade for a while but I remember watching him when he was at the Bulldogs & he's a real goer, loves tackling & doesn't hold back. I like players that show a bit of mongrel. It's just what the Warriors need if he starts. I have heard comments about his poor hands & some Titans forum member posted "he's got feet for hands" which I thought was funny. So I went to the Warriors forum & he is apparently right up there in the fitness tests & 1 comment I noticed was that the coaching staff like him because he always backs up the ball carrier i.e. doing the 1 percenters but that I suppose is a reflection of his fitness levels. If he starts at lock he should get 50+ mins & I don't think I could pass up a 228k forward who will start at lock.

When Adam Blair was starting lock for the Warriors last year, he averaged 32 minutes., And played more than 50 minutes zero times.
What makes you think Burr will be much different. He is a different player to Blair, so may be used differently, but Jazz Tevaga will probably get a lot of game time. Its why I can't play Burr in my 17, even if he gets a spot in 18-21.

Also it's worth noting the nutty professor Des Hasler has said he is thinking of starting Tom Turbo in the halves & playing A. Hopoate at f/b so if that's the case Hopa becomes a very good option.

Has Des actually said that? I thought it was just some random internet rumour
Burrs issue has always been talent. He may impress in pre-season because of his work ethic but come crunch time there's normally someone else around who offers the team more.White Lightning wrote:Further on my comment re Burr & the coaches liking him because he backs up the ball runner. You always see teams who are tired, maybe they have been defending for 3 sets of six. They get the ball back & the forwards are tired so it's just one out stuff which is easy for the defense to pick off & the team will struggle getting out of their own half. Having a player like Burr there is very important because he will back up the ball runner in this scenario so it keeps the defense in 2 minds so the defense won't rush up & they will keep their defensive line so it will be easier getting yardage out of their own half.
His DPP has me keeping an eye on him but I think there'll be too much minute sharing at the Panthers for him to be any more than a slow burn.Rabbit wrote:Thoughts on Jack Hetherington? Injury and suspension disruptions last year. Will bet a bigger role with Merrin and CHN gone. Big wraps on him and picked in the emerging blues squad by Daley. Gould loves him. Has a high score of 70. DPP. Right price. Go.....

Re: Issac Luke, his deal says he can leave at any point should he receive an offer before June 30. Per sources, Warriors offered him pay rise of about 50K to take out clause. He declined, which allows him to leave with immediate effect should he chooseWT2K wrote:Looks like Issac Luke is heading from @NZWarriors to @TheParraEels very soon, peeps.
