He looks like he could be a good loop option. You dont want his <10 scores, but do want his 50+ scores. The only issue is that Eels tend to play late in the round, making it hard to make good use of it.

Realistically what is everyone expecting from Mahoney?
Limited sample size but 4 games starting at an average of 42.5 points in 73 minutes. Priced at 34
In those games he made a bunch of tackles but did very little else
With Will Smith hanging around on the bench if the Eels are behind and need some spark off the bench(which they will in a lot games) Mahoney seems the logical candidate for a spell. I see him getting somewhere around 65 minutes on average.
Is there something I’m missing or everyone is just chasing a cheapish starting hooker?

4 days left till the day we all clear our teams and start from scratch and any player convincing we did goes out the windows. Oh the joys of nrl fantasy. I had a luscious head of heat last year.... now I’m bald.

Well I’m the latest trial where teams started their “best 17 available” Smith was actually 18th man. Came into the squad due to a late injury. BA has also said he wants to run a 4 forward bench (don’t have the sauce). Mind you with the injury to Mau and Niukore coming into the 13, Smith could find himself on the bench. Although in the one game they played together last year (RD 22) Mahoney saw 63 mins and smith saw 22. So there’s not much to go off.

    I think he'll play 65+

I'm not worried about Will Smith being named on the bench (if he is).

He also averaged 3.75 missed tackles in those 4 games. Without the missed tackles he has an average of 50. So if he can get rid of those missed tackles or at least reduce them (in the game he scored 45 he had 6 missed tackles) that avg could be around 48-50

Plus in the games last year all he did was tackle, probably what he was told to do. In the trials he seems to have been given permission to run the ball a bit, a have a scoot.
