Weighing into the decision:
- Cook is likely playing in the wet this week
- Taupau's game should be played in the dry, lots of offloads
- If Manly are to have any chance of not being thrashed in this game, he needs to be the one to step up
- Those at the top typically don't have Taupau, so a huge performance would allow a great chance to catch up
Another way to look at it would be Cook plays in the wet which normally means lower scoring and less wasted game time after tries and more time to rack up a monster tackle count.
Marty could spend half of his afternoon standing under his own goal posts watching latrell convert tries.
